OK stupid question but this is from a 1980 atc 110. Has been super hard if not impossible to start. So I was going to check the carb to make sure nothing is out of wack. This piece seems to be plugged. It is next to the float. It is clogged between the black section that has a blackend color. I should be able to slide a needle through it like the other one right? It seems to be plugged solid. I have tryed to gently pick at it inside but I can't get anything to even start to come loose.

Well, does the engine run when you spray WD-40 or Starting fluid into the carb directly?

If it does, then you probably have a fuel problem and you are already on the right track.

Hard to tell if that jet is clogged or not, the passageways are really small in those. Can you blow air through it with your mouth?

Take some wire and try to run through it and poke it out. I've soaked em overnight in acetone and then ran wire through it. If you have an air compressor, blast air through it with the rubber tipped chuck thingy. If you need any parts www.dratv.com is a great place to find ATC parts.

Doing mine as we speak. Soaked it and gently picked it with a needle. The hole is tiny and i've heard you can damage them if you pick or push to hard.

And beware blowing air through it. I've seen people launch those jets across the garage and not find them again for several weeks. Those press in jets are a pain anyways. Be patient.

Hope you have better luck than me. Mine was clear and put it back together and nothing.

Guitar strings work well to clear them......

A wire from a wire brush also works well to clear openings.
