While riding my auto-x a couple weeks ago I just reach the summit of a prety good hill when my cam-chain broke. Are there any tricks to replacing this? I do have the manual but I know sometimes thay leav out handy tips. thanks for the help.

not really, there's also a decent chance you bent some valves. you are probebly going to have to remove the head and inspect the head, valves and piston to ensure no damage was done.

thanks for the heads up on the top end, I'll keep that in mind when I get ready to tear into it.

That chain might be hard to get out... hope it didn't "pile up" in the bottom end when it broke.

youi'll have to remove the pull start, flywheel, stator, and then the stator cover to get to it on the bottom. on the top you have to remove the cdi assembly and cdi housing. then unbolt the 2 botls holding the cam gear to the cam. slide it forward and let it rest on the cam nose so you have slack. also loosen the cam tensioneer bolt onthe side next to the cdi and let it pop upwards. then on the case next to the jug under the ruber is another bolt you loosen or remove.
