200x hard to get in third gear

ive noticed that under hard accelleration my x has a hard time going fron 2nd to 3rd gear ... sometimes it will sometimes i need to hold clutch and click up twice and then it goes it seems wierd .. is this a problem with these ? i plan on rebuilding motor and should i look at maybe new internals on the tranny i have a back up motor that doesnt run i could rob trans parts off of if that may solve the issue or should i just live with it.....

It's no sweat really..... But it's not an inherent problem either.

Sometimes ya get lucky and it's an external problem on the shift drum star and related components. Other times you just find that things have been BEAT and worn and sometimes it's how the last "MEATHEAD" put it together. A washer thats .030 may not seem like much but it is to the tranny!

If it isn't the outside the box goodies, then it's within the case which really is still easy if you have a manual and a clean bench. You'll see the wear in the shift drum, the forks or the engagement lugs/dogs themselves. Just figure out what gear it is for sure and look at those areas and you'll figure it out!
