My glasses broke yesterday morning. My prescription had expired and i hate wearing glasses anyway. So i decided to check out lasik. Went down and had a free consultation. They told me that they only do it every 2nd thursday. So i would have to wait two weeks. I talked them into staying open late and doing mine yesterday. I woke upthis morning being able to see great. Better than with my glasses ( except for a little fog ). Went in for my post opt visit this morning andi am at 20/15 even with the fog. They said it might get a little better in the in the next month when everything heals. So i should be able to get pretty close to 20/10. WooHoo!!!!!!!!!! I should have done this years ago!!!!! Fog should be gone within a week.

Awesome to hear about the good results man! I had the procedure just before Lasik (PRK) done going on 15 years ago and I love it. I went from 20/400 to 20/10 in about a month. Just got checked a month ago and I am still 20/30 after 14 years.

I've been thinking pretty heavily of going and getting it done myself. My dad has a history of bad eye problems though (retinal detachments, cataracts, glaucoma, etc) so it kinda spooks me from going and getting it done.

I have been thinking of it a little too. My brother had it done 6 or 7 years ago and it went well, even when the pharmacist gave him the wrong prescription eye drops.

I have always wanted it, went to the eye Dr a couple weeks ago and I can't get it. My eye sight isn't that bad, problem is I have a very bad astigmatism. He thought in a few years a surgery would be able to fix me but right now he thinks I would need glasses again in a couple years. I guess I'll keep wearing contacts.

Yeah I'm in the same boat smokin....my prescription isn't crap, but I have an astigmatism in both eyes and it just kills my focus at a distance. Contacts didn't really seem to help me out much, so I'm stuck with glasses :(

I would like to check into eye surgery too. I've worn glasses for 40 years. It must be cool to see clearly. Maybe when my ship comes in.

I only take mine out once or twice a month so I will never be very fast at installing them.

Hey Billy...just wait till you get the cataracts and then have them put corrective lenses in when you get them fixed! True option...my surgeon does it.

Smokin & J.D. - Maybe you two should get second opinions. My mother had lasik done for astigmatism so I know it can be done. Same surgeon btw...

And before you all crap on me, NO, I don't work for my surgeon...lol He just happens to be a major chief in the field.

Oh yeah...my dads left eye has an implant already, I've been through just about every single type of eye ailment and solution there is with him...

That is what i had. Astigamatism. My prescription wasnt bad at all. The lasik corrects that. At least the place i went to does.

My old lady had lasik for near sightedness and a pretty bad astigmatism. It can be done with the right doctor.

Look into it. It's a game changer for sure.
