You need to post some pictures to get a better idea of what people think. It sounds interesting though. I hope you built this trike safely. Welcome to the boards.

Looks like your on the right track. How do you plan to run the exhaust?

Looks nice. :beer

Mini Banshee power  It does look like the front of the engine needs to come down a little.

I'm working on the exhaust now i don't have the pipes off the motorcycle so ill have to fabricate some, but it will have dual pipes cant waist that opportunity :D also thought the tac was cool

ok this is sick, you have room to make the pipes go back up in the frame , also what you could do is turn it into a 2 into one pipe take, and simply find a 200cc 2 stroke pipe from a dirt bike and take the the pipe mounts and weld them to the dirt bike pipe. How did you mount this?

Banshee 2 in 1 pipe, and the other is a kdx pipe.

i ordered the air cleaners the other day there isn't enough room for the stock air cleaner being there's two carburetors so i ordered these they clamp right on the carb's i think they should work pretty good

This bike should be freaking awesome, the motor stock has 22-24hp. and should wiegh less than the 200x motor.

nifty project, cool thing about them old RD motors is there is quite a few ponies to be made over stock with revised porting and correctly made pipes

So there wasnt enough room to mount the filters on the carbs so I bought hoses to extend them out this is what this looks like

I use similar air filter's to what you have there, those must be oldschool with the trike on the box-anyway's I use them on my MDR 600X,and when they get dirty I clean them 1 time and just pitch them after that, there not a k&n but they work good.

So i found an 86 200x that needs a new top end but its in better shape then mine and the only want $100:D so should I fix that one and use mine for parts and put my twin cylinder on my brothers yamaha blaster which I think would fit better anyway or just forge ahead

Hey man nice build. :TrikesOwn :w00t: Where in western new york are ya? Just my two cents worth but them plastic hoses to extend the air filters might collapse over time due to the vacuum.

im in the Olean area which is 50 miles south of Buffalo the air hoses are thick industrial but thanks for the tip

Man I think this bike would be a good example of a bike that could have been. Do not throw it away on a blaster. Retro engine in a retro frame.
Goda love that

believe it or not...JC Whitney had Yoshimura silencers for Rd`s for a good price...bolt-on performance

my RD cafe racing builder friend uses the old Roost Boost bottle on his RDs and claims mega-improvements

those RDs were high-winding bad mofos

take your time on the pipe. you dont want the stocker anyways, go with a newer KDX200 or similar pipe, it will really wake that motor up.

Xfactor
03-04-2009, 02:51 PM
just an idea but i think banshee exhaust would be the next best thing being the rd200 is just a smaller version of the rd350 which went on the banshee let me know

factoryX

I don't, pipes will be to big... you would need like 2 kx100 pipes..

hey sorry haven't posted in while been busy. Got tired of seeing it and not being able to ride it so i stuck some flex pipe i had siting around on.put the silencers i got from JC Whitney in it. presto gave it great back pressure about same as stock and amazing power gave me a great pattern for the permanent exhaust ill post pics later

flex pipe? oh man..... I think this build should have some money spent on custom pipes made your in NY hit up dynoport!

factoryX

I still think a 2 to 1 pipe is better than thi set up or even 2 kx 100 pipes...
