My recently purchased 1983 110 is giving me some trouble. I changed the oil and adjusted the timing chain and the previously mentioned "noise" went away. Now the thing idles just as pretty as can be. The problem is that it will idle when its not choked, but when I hit the gas, it boggs down. Sometimes it picks up after it boggs down, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it just sits there and acts like the motor doesnt have enough compression to move it. When I fully choke it, it has all the power its supposed to when moving, but it wont idle once its warm because its choked. I played with the idle and air screws. Nothing. Do you think this is just a simple case of a carb that needs cleaning? Or is there something else that would cause this. Thanks for your help!

Check you valves. Mine did the same thing. I had a bent valve. Got some new ones on Ebay cheap. Runs like a top now. I had to tinker with the pickup a little bit too. I beleive I set it about 1/8 inch counter clockwise from dead on.

Check to be sure the air cleaner and all the tubes are connected properly. Also check to see if the air tube in the frame is damaged or loose. This tube is normally forgotten about, but it is a critical part and can cause the problems you mention.
In this picture the main tube is #15 and the connector tube is #9 any damage to these or if they are loose will cause problems with a stock carb.
