I wanting to put a lifan in my 85 70. I want either the 110 or 125cc. Semi automatic is a must, easier for the kids. Electric start is a plus also. My problem is were does a guy buy a lifan electric start semi auto. I can't seem to find those combinations. I have seen them around the net, but never a place to buy them. I did find a 110, the guy said it was a lifan, but said it doesn't say lifan on the side of the engine. Does all lifans say lifan on the side? Some of these have the starter on the top and others have the starter on the bottom of the engine. I think I need the starter on the bottom of the engine. If anybody can lead me to one of these engines in semi auto and electric start that would be great! If anybody has any experience with the 110 or 125 in a little 70, let me know how it runs.

have you tried www.hooperimports.com or www.rabbitscooters.com or www.dratv.com
I hope one has the one that you need.
The lifans are GREAT engines...just keep up the maintence, oil changes and clean airfilters.

motocrox.com wants $999.99 for a lifan 125cc. What a great deal. I might order 4 of them. Dr. Atv says temp out of stock on all there lifan engines. I really prefer the one I buy to say lifan on the side so I know its a lifan for sure.

typed in lifan in search box and scroll down about half way down and it says lifan, click on that and it says $999.99. Maybe I missed something, wouldn't be the first time I didn't read completely!

you have to actually click parts... then you'll see a list of engine packages. I think you were looking at the purchase of a whole bike.

I think they kick backwards. I want the electric start and try the trx70 pullstart. I think that would be a great combination.

Well my 110cc Lifan motor is E-start and kick start. Problem is the kicker goes backwards and most likely your fenders are going to be in the way or you need to cut them similar to a tecate. I havent completed my project 70 yet , as my tecate got in the way, but I plan on putting the trx70 recoil on this motor for a back up starting.

eBay usually has a bunch of them
Rob
the 110 will fit fine. I have a slight rubbing of the front fender, but very very slight. You will need the eletric start on the bottom. I used a loncin engine.

Well I extended my frame 3" for a larger adult to ride better LOL. So I shouldnt have any rubbing problems hehe. But I do see where the motor is a tad longer there.

You can leave stock fender if you advance kickstart forward on shaft and machine or grind down the already too thick kickstart to clear side case. Here is a pic of mine. It is a KRP 90cc not a Lifan but it hauls arss and is on my swamplady weekend ripper:lol:   Maybe give ya' some ideas for the fender? Good luck.. http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo321/andyatc70/th_Picture316.jpg (http://s388.photobucket.com/albums/oo321/andyatc70/?action=view¤t=Picture316.jpg)

Word! Be sure to get a proper Lifan or Loncin and you will be fine

Well I found a "lifan". The guy says its a lifan, but it doesn't say it on the engine or box. He is going to check to see if the starter is on the top or bottom of engine. Will it work with the starter on the top? Its a 110cc electric start 4 speed semi automatic. He wants $250, its complete with carb.Brand new in the box. I think thats a good deal, but I am worried about the no lifan thing. Maybe I shouldn't care.

i started building a 70 for my girlfriend with a 110 motor out of a kazuma quad. It had the starter on top and it poses a problem. You'll need to find some kind of intake/carb/airfilter combo that'll work. i couldnt find anything but i also dont have money to be buying different intakes to try and then have them not work. it's totally up to you but i'd get a kickstart and then do the pullstart conversion like i did on my other project.

I got this 110 spotted, but the guy says it doesn't say lifan anywere on it, it doesn't say anything. If you look at the pic of the shift pattern, I can't tell if its a rotary shift or not. I don't think I would like that very well. I think I am going to go with it anyway, seems like a good deal. If anybody sees anything in the pic that doesnt look good, let me know. Thanks for all the replies.
