my new trx

picked up a nice trx250r.It is a 88 frame with 86 running gear.came with an extra frame.needs a little to complete but has new factory plastic on it.of all the watercooled 250s I have this has the most compression.The moter is very strong.It came with no case saver,but no chain damage at all.just about everything is new or redone.paid 2200,not quite a west coast deal,but ok for 20 min from my house.

damn richard,If you were closer I would just give you the frame.Its a clean 86 with no cracks and a florida title. al,I know I should just give you that z.we love that thing though.let me think about it.I will be in glamis the 2-5 of april.after that a trip to ocala would be great before it gets hot.

im not to up on trx frames,,,,, is the 86 and 88 the same except for the rear motor mount,,,?? i wonder if the geometry is the same? anyone know?

Kasey, the 86 frame Is alot different In quite a few place's. The footpegs mount different, The front motor mount's that are welded to the frame are different, the 88-89 frame has the extra cross tube/motor mount above the swinger bolt, also the seat latch Is different. The grab bar bolt pattern Is dirfferent, along with a couple cross tube's up by the front bumper. Lots of little thing's. The 88-89 also has different spindle's & A-arm for tighter turning. The 88-89 upper A-arms don't have adjustable/replacable ball joint's. Once Honda shortened the swinger, they then needed to change the front Geometry slightly. It was done with the spindle's & A-arm's, the frame's A-arm mounting locations are the same up front.
