Hey I meet you on that other forum some time back. You do that sweet powder coating. I am not much of a paint guru. Can you powdercoat a gas tank? I have a feeling you can't! Anyway, what do you have to have to powder coat a trike frame like a 250R or X?

Chris, I can powder coat a metal gas tank as long as it doesn't have Bondo or other fillers. I will have to let it air out for a while before shooting it and curing. The set up to do frames is a little bit more extensive than doing smaller parts. Mainly the oven size to support and cure a large item. My oven is 4.5X4.5X6 ft. Let me know if I can be of any help. I hope a few more Wisconsinites chime in here. I would love to go ridding with a group this summer. -Andy

i am down in janesville area. between janesville and afton.

hey, i just landed a track by broad head that is letting me get on to it. 100 bucks for the season. it seems to be a very well maintained track. i am going to try and get out there in april (or whenever i finally get my tires.) i will let you all know.

you can also pay by the day, 20 bucks per day. you have to sign a waiver. i will be the only trike that this guy has allowed on it so far. and he has been doing this for about 6 years or so!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will for sure let you all know.

I live just north of Milwaukee. Near the Slinger, West Bend area. I usually ride on a friends farm near Fond Du Lac.

I live near Stevens Point, have my Dad's farm land to ride on. But we have a cabin in Taylor County, west of Medford. A area called Perkinstown. Has some nice trails for riding, and a few nice watering holes as well. Campgrounds are in the area as well. Basicly the trails are in a National forest.

Sussex here, not sure where to ride since I just bought my 185 5 weeks ago and am doing a frame off. Should be done in one maybe two weeks tops. Would love to get it on a track when I'm done. Jones, what is the name of the track you landed in Broad head.

No, RockyGlen will not allow trikes. They keep telling me that they are thinking about it and hope to allow them one day soon but you know how that is. It'll NEVER happen. Not a state park. They won't accept the responsibilty nor the liability.

Just a suggested area.
See Taylor made ATV club. http://www.taylormadeatv.com/
Look under the perkinstown trails.
Campgrounds all over to spend the night too, connected to the trails.

How is the Cheese Country Trail and do they allow trikes? Is it basically just like riding down a dirt road the whole way, or is there some challenge?

Where is that trail?

I'm way up here all by myself in Ashland. There are some national forset roads to ride up here, but they've closed off most of the good areas to ride. But there are some pipelines out there that are pretty fun to ride. Not sure if it's legal, but it's fun.

Where is that trail?

That trail starts in monroe and ends in mineral point.Been on it about 20 times,it's pretty much a dirt road.Last few years, the cops have been cracking down on speed and whatnot.Holidays are really bad.
I've been to that track in brodhead years ago, never rode on it.

Curt, it's very small. Never been there but it's probably only worth a half-day at most. Don't know if they allow trikes either. I think you like it for the name of it...

Here is the info: 7.1 miles of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trails

ATV/Dirt Bike Trails

A dirt bike rider ready to go.
DNR Photo
Availability of the ATV/dirt bike trails is determined on a daily basis. Always call (262) 878-5600 before you come to ride. The message is changed daily. If weather or trail conditions warrant, the trails may be closed during the day and the telephone message changed.

ATV/Dirtbike loops 1 and 2 trails open at 9 a.m. Loop 3 never opens before noon. All loops close at sunset. In March and April the ATV/dirt bike trails are closed.

For more information, ask Richard Bong State Recreation Area, (262) 878-5600.

There are alot of good trails the farther you go north. Go to the wisconsin tourism site and they list all kind of state ATV trails. Perkinstown is small, but nice area and great camping areas!
I would be up for getting a ride going in August if anyone is interested!

We are planing another ride in a week or so on the pipe line north of Suring WI. Most of the roads around me are marked atv trail, mine included. It is 1.3 miles of pavment to dirt trail from my house. The rideing area we play on is about 5.4 miles long and 100 or so feet wide and mostly sand. There are hundreds of miles of atv trail also but we mostly just play in the sand. As soon as we set an exact date I will post it. You need current WI reg, and eyeprotection, we all wear helmets also but it is not a law, but I highly recomend it. Any good all purpose tires work fine out there also.

We are going September 26th and leaving from my house. If any one wants to come just let me know for directions. We will head out in the morning come back for a grill out around noon and then go back out riding. All atvs are welcome 3 or 4 wheels. Looks like 3-4 3 wheelers and 3-4 4 wheelers as of now.

What kind of trikes do you have? I have lots of Honda's and some Yamaha stuff if you need some thing. You will need to get the one you ride registerd, it is very easy to get. Just go to the DNR station right in GB.

I do not have a video camara or know anyone with one to borrow, sorry. Where we manily ride is sandy and loose soil, with berms and hills to play on. It is the most fun with a sport style atv, but people do the tracks and berms and sand hills with 4x4's just a little slower. There is also some good mud holes and strips if that is what you like. Just atv's are allowed south of hwy 64, no trucks or bikes. You are about 4 hrs away. There is also 1000's of mile of trail, some straight grade and some twisting and winding through the woods, flying down the woods trails is alot of fun too. Are last good ride of the year is this Saturday the 26 if you would want to join us. Otherwise just give me a heads up if you ever plan on coming up. There is a reasonable motel 2 miles north of me also right on the trail, or you can head out from my place.
Anyone is welcome to come ride and have a big cook out this Sat at my place. I can pm my address to you.

I live in Kenosha, but also have a family cabin up near Mercer, if anyone plans on riding the Iron County trails this coming year? I just bought my 84' Yamaha YTM 225 DX and plan on restoring it back to original. I could always use help in suggestions as a good place to start other then Ebay?

sbjones73, I would be interested in riding. Have you ever looked into the Iron County trail system? I rode my 4 wheeler there last year, and it was enough to get us to buy a place directly on the trail. I know we are going to be up there for the Memorial day rally. I have not done this yet, but hear it is alot of fun. Check it out and let me know if this sounds like fun to you?
