Silver Lake Ride-- Early June

We are planning a trip to Silver Lake for the first weekend in June, Leaving here at the usual 2:30 -3:00am to be at the dunes for 8:00 breakfast, and pick up the passes. We will be staying Sat night at Sierra Sands Motel http://www.sierrasands.com/index.htm and also ride on Sun morning as the tired old body's permit:lol:. We probably have a couple trucks and trailers coming down with everything from bikes, quads, utilities, and a few trikes. Hopefully all of the regulars will be able to make it up that weekend and anyone else that want's to come and hang out. We need a few more rounds on that slick track Sat night,:naughty: :naughty: don't we guys. this is the call out to Ed, Matt, Jeff, Wide Open , Curt, Dave, Roger (still got to see the 600X run the sand) Tapper, Josh, Jason and Sandy......... Anyone and everyone is welcome to join in.

It's not the only trip we'll make to the dunes, probably do a early fall ride as well. July is out for Shannon and I (3 wks in Hawaii:w00t: :w00t: :beer ). That means no Trikefest either:cry: .

Lucky for me I have 2 dedicated sand machines this year (not Hondas!!) and seperate fleet for TF , and yet a different machine for Rogers ride. Might even have a brandy new machine buy the time for Rogers ride, not sure I'll live to be 45 LOL

only time will tell for us. Im currently not working and my unemployment is exhausted so it all depends what im doing for money when the time comes. Im hoping to be able to make it to trikefest but that might be in question too. If we do make it to silver lake it'll only be saturday because sunday, the 7th, is the first drag race of the season so i cant miss that.

Had the 350 out yesterday and the crankshaft bearing let go. I'm beginning to think that I wasn't ment to have a 350! I don't know if it will be ready for the ride :cry:

I got the motor back together and managed to get out with Ross and Shannon for a ride today. It was a little noisy at first, but by the end off the day, it was running good. Sure does have alot more snap than the 200x! I think I'm good to go to Silver Lake! :w00t:

Good to see you made it home OK after we left. Sorry to bail early. Decided we didn't have time to make Royal City so we just took the longer way home. The X did seem to quiet down and run real crisp all afternoon, have to put the paddles on at the dunes and get that power to the sand.

My first and only trip to Silver Lake was back in 85. We left after work on Friday and had planned to stay at Silver Lake Dunes State Park. Big mistake!! Wall to wall campers. We found a small campground somewhere outside of Mears. We were awaken by a loud scratching. A beaver had decided to chow on our trailer deck! Ran him off several times that night. Oh yeah, the dunes were great. They had these buggies that would go up the big dune, turn, then wheely all the way down.My 185S with stock Ohtsu's sucked, so I rented paddle tracs from the local shop. $10/day!! Now that my son got me back on three wheels, another "reunion" trip is in order. This is my first post, lurking for a week or so.

In Kalamazoo we have festivals at the arcadia festival site and next weekend is Greek fest. Its a pretty good time and lots of good food and beautiful ladies. So I have to say I thoroughly enjoy my job but miss out on good rides, but will be at trikefest!

I got the final word from my boss today about work for the weekend. He told me to have fun and not to break anything. :w00t: I spent a little time cleaning, more time spent getting things together to take with me just in case something decides to break. I have the donor cooler ready as well, thanks Liway.

Dayum... that forecast sure changed...

So we are still planning on going, it looks like the rain won't roll in till Saturday evening so we are going to ride anyway.. we'll even ride in the rain if it comes a bit early.

If it's raining full on Sunday morning when we get up we'll just head home... In my experience... weather forecasters should all be fired since they never have any idea of what will happen anyway... so the short of it... WE'RE STILL IN!

Came down to last min for me Mary came home thursday she is week but thought the oldest boy might come down. I tried my best to make this ride and be fair to my girl. I really hope we can all meet up there again befor the year is over.

It sure was a fun day, but this morning it is raining so we are just going to head home. We were thinking if the weather held that we'd ride again... but it was not meant to be. So we're getting packed up at the hotel right now and I'll post some pics when we get home tonight.

Thanks to everyone for making the trip. It was great to meet some new riding folks... Jenn... you did a great job on that Banshee!

And Wide Open Sean did not disappoint, I got some great shots of him and his friends.

I did decide though that my little blaster was just not enough machine to keep up with everyone... and if I had a bigger machine then Ross wouldn't be able to ditch me again and run off with the boys... ;)

The 350 ran like a dream, only got stuck once on a hill on a miss shift :crazy: (thanks Jason for the push). I have come to the conclusion that I should take some pointers from Sean and Jason on their jumping skills! You guys are awesome riders!

Jason I had a blast screaming the hills cant wait to go riding with you again.I wish I had a helmet cam because there would have been some great vid when I looked over and seen you launching with me over the hills.

Sorry for the delay, we had a little bit of icky excitement when we got home last night. My dad is in the hospital and had to have a couple of stints put in due to what they think was an angina attack. This was very unexpected, but he is doing well now and we are hoping he'll be coming home in the morning...
