Wow, it has been awhile since I rode any kinda of non automatic atv, but I was surprised at how quickly I got back into it, especially since when I did drive this I hardly ever shifted past 1st(we drove it in his back yard).

Anyway, I was sittin outside today, and just got off the phone and I looked at the garage and just got the urge to work on the 90, so I went out there, opened the garage up and just kinda stood there thinkin for a minute. I figured what the he!!, why not try to start it again. Took the plug out, put a little gas on it cuz it was already cleaned up good. Screwed it back in tight, put the coil on, turned on all the switches...the moment of truth, I pulled it...put put put! It almost started, it was actually firing this time so I just kept at it for a few times. I turned the gas on, and put the choke on, and mashed on the throttle. 2nd try after I did that she started right up! I could hardly believe it, I just let it sit there for a second to see if it would idle. wheeled it out of the garage, put the fenders and stuff on, started it again, revved it up, put it into gear, and holy crap i was moving! I took it around the street, I don't think I got out of 2nd cuz I was worried about having no brakes(they lock up if you use em so I just unhooked em, any tips on that one?) Took it back home, put a little gas in it and took off again. I was on that thing all night. I finally went down to my friends house after a few hours and he got on it and rode it around. I took it up to Caseys to get some gas, $1.75 worth baby! and guess what? My friend was riding it and lost the gas cap somewhere along the line. And he wrecked it twice on top of that! once into his lawn mower, and once into a friends ditch. I fixed the gas cap with a rag and rubber band and we were off again.

At about 9:45 tonight we both got on it at my house and took off out to our friends house about 5 miles out in the country. Almost pitch black out. The headlight is broken too, lol. I'm almost totally sitting ont he gas tank, and hes sitting backwards wedged between the seat and the grab bar, I can't believe how well that thing held us, but it was a killer to turn, but I can't complain too bad since it probably had bout 350 pounds on it. We were moving really good, I mean I can't believe it was goin as fast as it was but it did. I can't make a guess at how fast but I mean it had to be at least 30, cuz those lines were goin by pretty fast. Anybody know how fast one of these goes? Anyway by the time we get out there its almost ten, and I'm almost freezing cuz I'm facing the wind, and have shorts and a T-shirt on. Pull up the drive, get the kid out side, and my friend and I both do a couple laps around their turn-around in their driveway, really cool cuz its loose gravel and the back end is way off to the side the whole time, fun. Well my friend thats wit me takes it back down the driveway, full speed, and remember its pitch dark, goes to turn right out of the kids driveway, goin real fast, all we hear is "oooooo shiiiiii****". He flew right over that road and into that ditch, and it was a big ditch. That was fun trying to get it out, woulda been easier if he had listened to me in the first place and started it up so it could push itself out but noooo, lets be stupid.

We finally headed back and it was almost 10:30, jeez when I got home mom was pissed, she gave me that evil look, you know the one where she seriously looks like she has the full intention to kill you, and never says a word, just the look....

Anyway, it was a fun day, my friend took it home cuz he was plannin on goin for a road trip tonight. I'll head down in the mornin and steal it, hehe. I gotta get that light fixed. Well thanks for reading, sorry bout the novel.

sounds like you had some fun. i agree that atv's are hard to turn when you have a passenger. when i was it Montana i drove a 4 Moto 350 with one person on the front and rear racks it was hard to turn going down the pavement at speeds that it was hard to turn without passengers

you might want to check your brakes. The only way to check I think is to take the 2 big axle nuts off. Because the cover might not fight over the nuts.
My 84 110 does about 35, so your 90 does something close to that.

So after I get those 2 lug nuts off(one on each side of the frame I suppose?) what do I do? Just spray some WD-40 in there and try to work it around or something? We ended up taking the front fender off because it kept rubbing on the tire and making it even harder to turn. I think I will try and mess with the brakes today, anybody know exactly what to do? Also I need a good gas cap and the gasket needs to be good, thats part of the reason the other one came off, the gasket was almost not there.

Thanks
- Ben

Oh yeah, and will 110 parts work on a 90? 1980 110? Like fenders and stuff or what?

The 2 nuts are on the same side. You remove the 2 nuts then brake cover should come off and then you should be able to check out the condition of the brakes then.
I believe 110 parts and 90 parts are compatiable, not the CDI 110

Take the right tire off, then undo the 2 large nuts next to the brake cover. Then undo all the brake cover nuts and take a look inside. Something is obviously locking up. When u get it off, step on the brake pedal and see what's not releasing. Brake cam maybe? And were u using the foot brake or hand brake? If it didn't matter which u used then it's definitely something under the brake cover.

The cable is messed up on the lever so its the foot brake. I might mess with that today cuz another wonderful friend rode it yesterday and really screwed it up somehow. Soon as he started it up the thing threw him off and almost hit my moms van, revved up really high and stuff, I guess the fuel lines developed a hole in them or at least thats what I'm told, I didn't see anything wrong with them, but they are pretty crappy so I'm gonna go ahead and spend the 2 bucks to buy new ones. I think when I have the lines off I'll spray some cleaner into the carb, see if that helps.

OK, got a bunch of work done today. Turns out I don't need an entire headlight, just everything but the red part with all the wiring in it. So the chrome part, lens, preferably with a good bulb, know what I mean? And I ordered a new front tire and spark plug wire today from Dennis Kirk. Tore open the brakes today, you wouldn't believe the dust. I really don't understand them, the brake shoes just fell out as soon as I took the cover off, is that supposed to happen? Well I hooked the brakes back up and tightened the nut that goes ont he cable, and my friend pushed down on the pedal and the arm that the cable is connected to went down and its so far down I can't get it back. What can I do now? I've sprayed Liquid Wrench and WD-40 all over the place and tried again and still no good? HELP!
