Any one put a different swing arm on a 1st gen 200x that has a carrier? maybee a 250/300ex? or a 250r swingarm i have searched and found nothing on this. Probabally out of my price range anyway but some times you see them go pretty cheap and since i have my swingarm off I would consider it:idea:

yes it has been done, I found the tread but all the pics were removed. Swigin will chime in he helped with the build. The swinger was custom made by HREATV and used a 300ex carrier and axle, you have to run a 200x hub on one side and a 300ex on the other to line up the chain and have the rear wheels centered. It was a lot of work and money. The project was never finished and sold off in peices.

Does Rad Mfg still make the carriers for the 200x I know they have the blueprints for the 1st Gen tecate but you need to buy like 10-20 of em for them to tool up and remake em.

I was going to ask if a 300ex swinger was a bolt up job for the first gen 200x but I guess this thread answers that huh?

a stock trx250x / trx300ex swingarm will not bolt up. i am the who had that custom swingarm made. you have to build a custom swingarm. i will prob be revisting this mod again if i can sell off my extra 200x stuff. that bike was sold off to pay for a divorce that got outta hand. the swingarm is floating around out there some place...if i could find it again i'd buy it back!

the reason the 300ex style carrier was used because it was not as wide as 400ex and 450r.

That custom 300ex set up is on ebay. He has been trying to get somewhere around $700 for the complete swinger, carrier, and axle set up with brakes. It is alot of money but it would for sure cost 2x that to make it. Is the 300ex or 400ex swing arm steel?

haha i sold it to him for then 1/2 that cost and a year later he emailed me saying he did get it set up right yet.

250x and 300ex swingarms are steel, 400ex is aluminum

well the swingarm was 100% custom, HRE made me blocks to fit in the chain adjuster slots...if i do it again this time i want the frame modified so it can never got back to stock.

HRE has no specs on this so if he builds another one its all from scratch again.
