A freind of mine bought this R, it was his #3 kinda for people to use or a spare. I think here in Utah it is nicknamed "the ugly duckling" :lmao: :

When Ted got it:

When i got it:

Notice the pretty green motor and hubs ect?

After many hours of "clean up" I came up with this:

Yes it still has the green hubs.

Well not being totally satisfied I saw an ad in the local classifieds, 85 250r torn apart, needs a crank bearing, powder coated frame, +6 swinger. After talking a bit and finding out he had another 85 r, we came to an agreement of some cash plus my stock wheels and tires off the r for it. A couple picts of the parts (sorry for the low quality of the picts):

Blue Frame and swinger:

PVL:

Ported K&T jug:

It also has nicely polished side covers. I am missing some parts like motor mount brackets and a few other things. The plan underway is to make 1 great bike out of both.

Looking good man. Wish there was some deals around here. I only know for three here off hand and only 1 is for sale, needs work and wants too much. Guess I'll have to go look at Newfiebish's R if I wanna see one.

Probably be an ok trike if you could come up with a solid color scheme. As it sits, all the colors seems to clash. Nothing wrong with red, white and blue - if done right. But that just doesn't look 'right' IMHO. (just opinion mind you)

Then on top of that the silver-ish engine clashes with 3 other colors.

I think with a more simplified and uniform color scheme you would have a nice looking trike. Congrats on it.

haha! yes man, anytime, and i like the color scheme of the bike to tell ya the truth, i think almost any color on a 250r looks good, mines almost "too red" if ya know what i mean

Ya it is nice having something diffrent. I really don't want to say how much I have into it...it isn't alot. There are quite a few forsale around here. A ton of 83-84's and a few 82-83, but they don't really sell here. I wish I had the cash to snag this one..
