Anyone got experience with a torn rotator cuff? about 99% sure thats what happened to me. Got it x-rayed and its not broke but they said for it to be hurtin the way it is, almost for sure a torn cuff. Suppose to get an mri in a few days. Hurts like a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro if I move it just the wrong way. It was my right one, so if you guys see a couple posts from me that look like trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro, its not braoo, I'm just having to learn how to type with one hand hahah.

No experience myself but I have heard if you don't get it taken care of it can bother you for a long time and possibly never be right.

Sorry to hear about that. A buddy of mine had his "rebuilt"(reattached) said that the physical therapy was the worst part, but he rehabed quickly, and said he'd like to have his OEM side done, because the fixed side feels better that his OEM does. No lifting and no riding, he had his done in November and was back on his Harley in the spring!

Good luck

Just my own fault and doing of course. Was riding at my track, and went into my whooped out sand section after having just adjusted my suspension a few clicks softer. Hit the first one, done ok, hit the second one, travel bottomed, rebounded, pogo'd me right off the side. Landed on my shoulder. Shoulda known better then to hit that crap in 5th pinned without rolling through it once first to see how it was going to work with my adjustments. I got some pain meds in my right now and its actually not bothering me to bad, using both hands and slightly moving my arm around a bit but I'm not sure how long thats going to last.

mine has been torn since last easter. It never has heald, but it does feel better than it did when it happened. I cant use a drive up window or atm it hurts to lift my arm that high, or throw a ball. I can still ride 100% and do anything as long as my arms are down. It kind of sucks really, I need to get it fixed but I'd be off work a long time from that surgery. They dont heal from what I've been told you have to get it fixed. Of course they send you to physical therapy first before surgery and thats just a waste of time and money with a lot more pain. Keep us posted on how it all goes.

Chances if it is a torn rotator cuff, it will need surgery. The surgery it self is not so bad but the therapy after is tough. I had a partial shoulder replacement in Nov. and went through 6 weeks of therapy 3 times a week. I still to exercise at home. My doc and the rehab people said it will be about a year before it is better. I can't raise my arm very high and can't swing a 3lb hammer. Good luck.

I messed mine up back in 94...
Right side.
I never got it fixed.
I still feel pain to this day at times.Get ready to live with it forever!
Never have been able to throw a football the same..
If they operate or not, it will always bother you.
I choose not to go under the knife, ever.(Unless I have to) Seems like no matter what, they never fix you right, and it just cost you thousands.

Dont play games with a rotator cuff, I am a therapist and although orthopedics isnt my specialty (brain injury is) I have treated it before. The severity varies greatly depending on the locaton and extent of the tear. As mentioned above I have seen many people who havent been the same physically. That includes not being able to raise an arm above 90 degrees and abduction of the shoulder is most often affected. Poeple often compensate by throwing their body trying to raise their arm. If you can get to a good physiatrist, orthopedic surgeon do it sooner than later. Also attend the recommended therapy as well as complete any home programs they give you. I see people flake out on the home programs all the time. Recovery can be much more attainable and faster by being aggressive with the care. Good luck with it

Torew mine just a month ago, had surgery about 4 days after the MRI, Physical Therapy 4 times a week, Massage Therapy 3 times a week and yes PT is a pain, half the time I feel like balling my eyes out. Sucks ass man. I cant lift my arm without it hurting but below the neckline its fine.

TAKE CARE OF IT! Dont screw around, trust me... more trouble than its worth

My boss and one Co-worker both had the surgery and it was very tough for them in therapy. It also took like 6 months to recover, but atleast they are mostly pain free. One of them still can't raise his arm all the way up.

Sorry to hear that Bill, Dont jump the gun on all the negatives and the worst it could be, leave a lil room for positive thoughts, dont give up on yourself. Could be you bruised something inside BAD ! maybe tore a muscle, tendon, cartilage ? Im not a fan of surgery either, ive seen some crazy shizzle with bodily injuries and major recoveries with therapy and ice. :wondering

At least when people ask you what happened you can tell them your cool story about crashing at 40 mph on a trike, instead of something like I slipped on a piece of bologna at the supermarket, and you still got one arm for drinking, god luck :beer

I'd get a for sure look at it from a couple different doctors before going under the knife to get anything "Fixed".

I had a shoulder injury when I was 19 from playing football in sugar sand. It hurt for YEARS and I still favor it to this day. I never got it looked at beyond the Navy corpsman that was attached to my unit. I was given 800mg motrin and told to suck it up.

Anyway....get a few opinions on it or at least get someone you really trust to look at it and give you a solid "Yep this is definitely what's wrong" type of answer. If a doctor gives you a wishy-washy could be this, could be that type of answer... Find another one to go to.

Good luck bro...shoulder injuries blow.
