Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I just noticed front brake rotors have been discounted from $59.00 suggested price to $19.00. I got an email from them with the discounted price at this link:

http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&webTypeId=30&navTitle=Brakes&webCatId=15&prodFamilyId=3135&stockId=46055&vehicleId=1908#vehicleSelect

For some reason, when I go through their website and enter 1986 ATC250R machine information, it still shows $59.00. Anyway, maybe someone could use this.

EDIT - REMEMBER YOUR DISCOUNTS!!!!!!!!!!! If you are purchasing $100 ($10 off), $150 ($20 off), $300 ($50 off) or $500 ($100 off). Good through April 31, 2009.

Is the stainless rotor that much better? Would it be worth the 40 bux to upgrade to them?

Yes, without rust you don't wear the pads as fast. Rust is very abrasive....

I bought a generic Titax stainless rear from them for a LT250R for like $30 shipped on closeout. It never rusted and I sold it for $38 after I used it. Not sure it this helps but...............

Funny story, I called DK by mistake and they couldn't find the part number and she asked "are you sure thats the part number?" I told her I'd call her back

But anyhow, I called RMATV and she said they had 14 left :wondering Regardless, you guys should grab them up FAST! How can ya beat it for 20$? New, no wear and no rust is SHWEEEEEET!!

ANDNUAA - That looks great! It was the same part number for the 200X, 250R and the 350X. I hope you didn't have to pay full price!!

Only for front rotors?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they the same???

kbreese
04-04-2009, 11:12 AM
Well they specify a different set for the rear which are $59.99....not sure if they are the same or not but if they are I don't know why the specify separate "front" and "rear" discs with different prices...

Closer bolt pattern on the rear.....

Don't worry, those will go on sale next year and we'll snag em up :D

For those who were wondering the 85 200x has the same rotors front and back. I ordered 2 fronts on a whim thinking they were the same. Got them today and perfect they both fit. I have stainless rotors front and rear! Tits!

Nice find Micahdogg. Thanxs!...Just ordered a new front rotor for my 350X, since I'm rebuilding the front end. Stainless is harder than carbon steel and dissapates heat better, but with all those holes in the rotor, I don't think it matters. Pads are cheap.Beets

i'm not talking about the pads. i'm talking about the rotor themselves. the SS is softer than the carboin hardened steel rotors that the oem uses. unless they use a special hardened ss, then it's cool and grab them!

oscarmayer
04-10-2009, 10:57 AM
i'm actually calling to ask if they know cause if they are a quality hardneded ss then i'm getting a set.

There are three basic groups of stainless steel:

Austenitic - These chromium-nickel and chromium-nickel-manganese stainless steels are nonmagnetic.
Martensitic - Alloys of iron, carbon, and chromium that are magnetic in nature.
Ferritic - Magnetic stainless steels with more than 18 percent chromium.
Stainless steel is a classification of special alloy steel. As the name implies, stainless steel is extremely resistant to corrosion." It costs more than carbon steel and is harder to cut and machine." This where I got my info. FWIW I know steel. I weld and cut all types. Let me know what you find. I learn something new all the time. Beets

I just got a handful of these today, i went in with my cousin and a buddy and spent 500.00 so i saved a hundred bucks as well. But anyway between these rotors and my Irazr's i'm pumped. The rotors are very nice, they are also Blanchard ground which in my mind makes it a far superior product and a great upgrade over the ground down worn out stock rotors...

I bought more today, They also fit an 84 250R rear rotor and thats what I run on the 86 200X.

They are magnetic if anyone was interested....

Since they are magnetic they will rust, some what.
