i have my 200x listed on craigslist for 1200. brand new tires, carb, kick start gears, and alot of polished parts. a guy emailed me offering to trade for an 84 tecate with a full parts bike. yey or ney?:confused:

Judging by the wheels and the fact that the guy says it's an 84, I'd say no disc brakes.
That's a killer deal, do it. The only thing is, you're going to be in a slightly different bracket when it comes to parts. Tecate parts are tougher to find and alot more expesnsive, but you'd be making out in that deal for sure.

i just got an email back from him. according to him the parts bike is 80% there...all it needs is a seat, radiator, brakes and swingarm bushing...from what all you say...im trading this weekend. anybody wanna trade a tecate for a 350x ;) all it needs is a couple things haha

Put the disc brakes on the runner, you'll stop alot better. Drums suck on something that fast.

haha i wouldnt have any trouble getting used to it...it would be my son that would..i want him to get into riding and he loves the x but i dont know if he could do the whole...hitting bumps and keeping his wrist tight so he doesnt hit the gas

ah, not when your talking kids... safety first. if the kid is used to a 200x, and gets on a t3 thinking he is going to be able to ride it the same way, not knowing the power difference and the sometimes unrpedictablitiy of the t3 powerband, and not being used to twist throttle, it might just be safer going thumb.
