I got a new OEM coil and spark plug boot for my 350X project. The boot is hard plastic and has to be installed onto the plug wire. I don't want to screw up 2 new parts so I am asking first. It looks like there is a screw- type post down in the plug boot which will screw into the insulated wire and contact the copper strands inside. There are only about 5 copper strands and I just wondered if this was the way it worked and make sure it wouldn't damage the strands or the insulation.

I am used to automotive type wires where you do some crimping. Screwing that thing down into my new wire, which is attached to my new coil ($$) is scaring me a little!!

new problem. My new coil doesnt fit in the old suspension rubber. Ii is slightly different. I went back to the PartsFish schematic and noticed there are two coils you can click on. One is part number 30510-KT0-405 and the other is 30510-HA5-000. I have the first one, KT0-405. I know the HA5 is a 350X code so I think I have the wrong one? The one I have has a round body with a square ridge along one side and is hex at the top edge only. The original is hex all the way down. The wire terminals are the same color, type and location though.

MR ATC I know you have these numbers memorized, what is the real deal??
