Alright, I'm pretty much certain that I'm getting some HF245s, but I came across these and I can't find any info on them... not even on Duro's website. Possibly a discontinued model? They're not much cheaper than the HFs, so I'm just curious if any of you guys have ever tried 'em. Thanks.

Oh yeah, I read in an ancient thread, Billy said that the 20" HF245 was more like a 22. Could the same be said that the 18" HF is more like a 20? I'm not sure that I'm gonna like an 18" tire, but I was planning on upgrading the rear suspension on my R anyway. Just worried about the front end being too light in the mean time.

My friend ran duros on his predator. Not exactly the same as those but they were flat track tires. The gripped pretty good and last longer than most flat track tires.

The hf245 are more like 22 than 20's but I found them great . Had them on a

couple of bikes and got a set in the garage now . Are those Duro schorchers?

Those are what I wanted at first but all the local shops couldn't order them in? so

I got the hf245's .

Cool. Anyone try the 18" HF245s? No these aren't Scorchers, those are way out of my price range. They look sweet though:

Your rears look my my front on the Tiger 250. I mounted standard duros on the rear. Haven't had a chance to ride it yet as a few little bugs are being worked out. Psyko ran the same front tire on his 250r and liked it. That pattern is one of the few that fit the wide tire front ends. Keep me posted on how you like yours and I'll update when I get some riding time on mine.

Hey that a great info. I wanted to put HF245 tires on my 225 put the fact that they were only available in 18 and 20 inches scared me. :w00t:

You mean they used a Scorcher on the front, or a HF247?

for those folks interested in Duro tires that have never used them before, they are very heavy tires. If weight is an issue with you, you might want to choose a different donut. I'm not saying they make bad tires, just heavy.

Yamada, I don't think Billy ever measured the HF245 in that old thread, so I don't know if its true. Does anybody know for sure? I was just going on what he said.

Heavier than 22" Wooly Boogers? The HF245's are only 2-ply, so they shouldn't be that heavy, right?

I think all atv tires should post the weight of the tire so you could get the right tire for you. Maybee not a big deal when you have a 450+cc machine but on a 200 it's going to make a differance for sure

those tires are a pretty hard compound.. they will break free easily if thats what you want, when me and billy raced with used american racers with compound 22 and they would wear out in 2-3 races or less I had a duro scortcher for my front tire and it wore out one side on a long race one time.

I use 245's on my trike (rears). Air them up rock hard for the track so they break loose when you want them, and the lugs are so big, they are even duneable (with enough power) ! Yes they are heavy, I had considered cutting them down, but not until I lose a race.... and I have to.

They are heavy compared to a race tire, but I use mine in the desert and they don't puncture, so........

Alright, I'm pretty much certain that I'm getting some HF245s, .

If I may ask, what are you wanting flattrack tires for. General play? Track?

-info may help in advising which tire best suits your purpose.

Hmm, that's a good question! Well I want something that's good around my track, and is easy to slide. I also ride in grass, gravel, and unplanted corn/soybean fields, but when I'm riding in that stuff its usually just drag racing. They'd be for my Airfooler BTW.

I'd say you have enough juice to break them loose.

the lifan 200x I sold would break em loose in a straight line in 3rd.

Gotcha. You're a sideways guy, too.

You're going to get good forward traction with the HF245. I have used that tire in the past....they can hook AND slide.

I'm going back to Carlisle Multi-Tracs on my Tecate....just like the '80's again:D

I've been a sideways guy since my first snow ride on a 3 wheeler. These HF245s are sounding better and better! I'm gonna order a pair over the week end.

Alright guys, do you think I should hold off on these tires until after TF? I'm thinking the Wooly Boogers are gonna be more appropriate, as I've heard its always muddy.

OK guys, new problem. I've noticed a discrepancy in rim size with these 245's. On Duro's website, it says that the 18x11-8 are for 9 inch rims. DennisKirk says for 8 inchers. I'm confused, I thought the last number in the size was what rim it fits. Here are the links:

http://www.durotire.com/productdetails.php?productid=246

http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/tpl/tire/atvtireproduct.jsp?store=Main&catId=108&leafCatId=10802&skuId=541999&productId=p542001&mmyId=

Oh yeah, my R has 8 inch rims.

AutoXer

got to be a typo right? says the 10 is for a 8" as well ... you could probabally call?

AutoXer

I see it is the rim width not the rim dia.?

That's what I thought too, but I think the S.W. (sidewall, 10.07 inches) corresponds to rim width.

Its probably just a typo on Duro's site. Why not call them and ask?

That's good to hear. Now I don't have to worry about getting stuck at TF! I took your advice and just ordered a set of 245's for $90 shipped from rocky mountain!
