Hopefully someone knows about washing machines.

I have a GE front loader. the thing has always made a racket in spin cycle. I am guessing the feet werent adjusted. My wife wanted to stack them to save space, so i did and perfectly leveled the feet. It worked good until spin cycle. It went crazy. I opened it up and the tub was at a diagnol. i pulled the back cover off and i guess why i was moving it one of the shocks pulled apart. fixed that and it started making a metal to metal grinding noise. Sounds like the tub is rubbing. and it looks like the tub is sitting low also, i am not sure if it was like this before. So i had it going and nudged it, it quit making noise. a few minutes later it started making it again. I nudged it and it quit. It is kinda like a tv attenna, works great while your standing next to it but as soon as you sit on the couch it goes haywire. anyone have any ideas. It is a year old.

Barry, I HATE those front loaders.... Of course they save energy and water but man do they stink to work on.

Someone I know had a front loader that made scraping noises and it was a bearing in the tub itself and only a couple years old. They mold in a 6204 bearing and the whole tub has to be replaced.

The initial cost is so high they ought to be bulletproof.

If it were a top loader, I could help..... All I can suggest is searching and finding a forum that deals with appliances and you'll find a tech that knows them like the back of his hand, or at least as well as we know trikes :D

I think i have busted the casing around the tub. I have water showing up on the floor and no hose leaks. I think when i nudge it, i push the casing back together for a moment. Oh well, i got these cheap as a floor model. I should have known better than to be rough with these trying to stack them. Live and learn.

new development on the washer. I was letting it runs and it went haywire, ran in there to nudge it and it didnt work. Looked through the door and i was throwing sparks on the front, top, right of the tub and glowing red. I then found that it had melted a hold through the rubber gasket. this thing will be on the rioad tomorrow.
