Hey guys, and gals.

I am getting my first z this weekend. And the fellow board member I am buying it from said that it is a pain to start sometime. He said it might be the kickstart gear, or something to that effect.

So, to replace this I will have to drain the oil, remove the kicker, clutch cover hardware, and clutch cover itself. Or am I going to have to split the cases for this part replacement.

If you have some detailed information as to how to go about this. Please feel free to comment. All suggestions are welcome.

You can get the Z service manual from the 'World Class Help' section in this forum. I think you'll find good info/pics in it to give you a hand. I haven't looked at mine yet.

Also, at this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYX-bOG9vR4&feature=related

you'll see a video of a YZ bottom end rebuild. Its a three part series and is done pretty well. It might also be helpful.

Good luck :)
