Or new to me at least. Pics will come soon. I cannot believe it, but I bought a DODGE!!!!!!!!! I have been a Ford Guy for years but got a sick deal on this truck.
2005 Ram 1500 4 door TRX Off Road with the Hemi and tons of accessories (bedliner, diamond plate rail caps and tailgate cover, limo tint, Flowmaster exhaust, K&N intake, etc...)
It was an old man's truck that NEVER towed anything and has only 27k miles!!!! Garage kept-
Pics to come
And spare me on the Dodge vs. Ford vs. Chevy thing, cause I have now had all 3.............:D

Yeah, I could not stand it for the deal I got. I would have bought 2 of them for that price if I could have. I would love a diesel, also, but cannot justify the initial expense and I really do not pull anything that heavy. I will get pics and post them up soon. That hemi really cranks out some ponies and torque!

^Ha. Hard to pass up a deal. I've had all three also (and more). Seems they all have good and bad things, sooner or later, you end up working on anything you drive, if you keep it long enough. Looking forward to pics.

Congrats on the new truck, they're awesome! 345 HP under the hood can't go wrong there! My old man has one and loves it (I love to drive it as well). Sound like you got one pre-pimped, we did all that to my dads, rail caps, toneau cover, LED tail lights, LED 3rd brake light, Gibson Stainless Steel cat back exhaust, Dodge RAM SRT-10 Hood(that makes the truck), Fram air hog air filter (like a K&N). They are the best muscle trucks out there right now, chevy had the 454SS and Ford had the lightning now it's dodges turn! Enjoy it they're a bunch of fun when you hit the skinny pedal! Take good care of it and it will last, My 01 Ram Cummins Turbo has 198K on the clock and shows no signs of stopping.

I've had a few Dodge pickups. I had a 51 and 55 with a flathead sixes and a 73 D-200 club cab that had a 400 V-8. Can't say I miss the 73. It was a big old heavy gas hog. The 51 and the 55 were short box 1/2 tons. They were cool to drive because all my friends had Fords and Chevys.

Where's the pics?????? Dodges seem to be better then they were and as far as diesel goes cummins is the top of the pile right now although I don't think that any of them are bad other than the price tag ... you can buy alot of gas and power for 5 grand IMO

Congrats on the truck Greg! I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I've been real happy with my 03. The interrior is functional and not overdone, the seats are comfortable, and everything is pretty much right where it needs to be. You've got a dependable drive-train Get some pics!

Are you on the take?

I will post pics tomorrow. I have had to work late the last 2 nights and have not got it to the house yet.
And no, Lou. I am not on the take. You would piss in your boots if you knew what I got this truck for...........:naughty:
Yeah, Billy- I have joined the Dodge world! Can you believe it?????

The Hemi is still a Hemi Head Design. On this particular truck it runs 16 plugs.
2,centered in the head..Hence Hemispherical,or Hemi.;)
Congrats on the buy Wheelie King.
Cant pass a good deal up.
I wont get into this Vs. that...It aint a FORD...LOL
I dont understand though, the engineers thinking.
16 plugs, that are standard design and call for replacement every 30K.
Most Manufactures have gone to Iridium,or platinum plugs, that go at least 50-70k before replacement.
And Yes..They suck to change. I done em....
Other than that,we dont see many problems with them. I think you will be happy with it.

Yeah, I heard the plugs are a 3 hour job. That sucks, but oh well. Small price to pay for that powerplant, if you ask me.
Thanks for the kind words and well wishes, Mosh.
AND I will get the pics up by tomorrow afternoon.

My question is will we see this truck at trikefest this year?

Congrats on the truck, Dodges rock. I love my 04 and have had it since new. Right now Im at 74k at no problems yet. At 27k you should check and see if you have a limited slip differential, if you do pull the cover and make sure you do not find any metal shavings in there. Otherwise at 30k you are supposed to change the 16 plugs, and all fluids. If you take it to a stealership, its about a $900 job for everything. As for the plugs they are all easy to do except for the driver side back 4 plugs. I think I used two swivels and a couple extensions and got them easily. Also if you would like a little more "pep" buy a Super Chips Programmer and you will really open up some power. Also for a good forum check out dodgetalk.com

If you like the truck now do yourself a favor and throw a GOOD set of shocks on there. I had an 03 and it was great but a little mushy. I put a set of KYB's on it and it was a night and day difference, like driving a different truck. Otherwise they are a great ride with lots of storage and plenty of power. Mileage could be a bit better though. Good luck with it!:beer

Gotta say I did a set of plugs on my Grandparents 07 300 C Hemi, and thought it wasnt bad at all. The trucks may be positioned a little different, but the car wasnt bad.
I like the use of coil packs. Everythings right on top of the valve cover. Takes a little finese for a couple spots with the wrench, but okay otherwise.
So dont fear the job to much.
Looks real nice man, congrats.

The main problem on the trucks is the location of the motor versus brake booster, they are pretty close and it does create a couple issues, but nothing that cant be overcome.

Sooooooo I am thinking a Fabtech six inch kit with some Grapplers. Hmm, maybe an ARB locker and some links for the rear. Nothing fancy, maybe a simple three link.

Louis, you kill me, man. I really don't have the scratch for all that. Hell, that's 1800 in tires, huh ?!?!?!.
Oh, I get it, you wanna sponsor me????
All BS aside, it IS going to get a Superchips programmer and 33 inch tires, but that is it for now. And prolly for a WHILE........... I mainly use it to tow the camper and boat, so I don't want it that tall on the highway......

The metric equivalent of a 33 will fit on the stock 17" rim with no clearance problem. They also fill up the wheel wells nicely. I had 285-70-17 BFG's on mine.

Just remember, you should take it to a dealer and have the computer reprogrammed for the new tire size. That way the speedo and everything else will be right on.

If he gets the superchips programmer, he wont need to because he can do it through programmer.

The programmer is actually very nice, you can use it to pull trouble codes, change tire sizes, change shift points, 0-60 test, 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile. read individual sensor reading for tuning, and plenty more.

Thanks!!!! QUite honestly, it all came down to price and condition. I would have bought a "anything" for what I paid the old man for this truck with only 27k on it. All maintenence records, etc., I could not go wrong with any brand really.
But that HEMI is a bad beotch, for sure. Dang.

Do not forget to reprogram your speedo. A lot of people forget that when they up the tire size. Plus, is towing is what you have in mind a gear shange with the taller tires is always a good idea. I know that will cost a lot, but it is the only way to save you truck some work when towing with the tire change. Throwiing power at it instead of a gear change will decrease the over all life of the truck and make it work a lot harder than it should be.
Just looking out for ya.
