2250R ATC 1986 Question on Oil Drain Bolt

Folks:

My oil drain bolt/plug has striped the threads on the case, it is the orignal drain bolt. Any suggestion on how to repair it? I am thinking a Helicoil set, without tearing the motor apart...???

Does anyone know the stock metric thread size for the drain plug bolt?

Thanks, did some research, used Helicoil, left tang in place...does not interfere with any items...
