some trouble

picked up a 1985 ATC70 for $160 not too long ago, its in pretty mint shape, owner didnt know its value i guess. it hasnt been run since 1993, and it still doesnt run at the moment. Its got a brand new spark plug, gets good spark, has compression, carb is all clean and gets gas, but it still wont run. i bought a carb kit and am waiting for it to come in. any ideas?

try turning the choke on. If you can try have somebody pull you around.
Put fresh gas in if you haven't.

i tried both, my friend was pulling me around on his 300ex

You said it's getting spark so it must be the carb.
When you take it apart get some carb cleaner clean the carb out before you put it back together. Also check the fuel valve on the carb and make sure that is clean.
Be careful when you take the fuel valve off, you might strip the threads on the fuel bowl and then you need a new bowl :x It happened to me once.
