Yeah, this could be fun, I ended up using a 12 foot piece of 2" pipe over my 24 pipe wrench before it finally let go, and this was with a rose bud making it glow red. are you sure your turning it the right way. they are left handed threads. yep good times! my other 350x took me an hour to install new bearings in.

here are some tips for you.

when putting it all back together put grease on the threads of the axel. this will prevent it ( the lock nut) from siezing to the axel again.

better then that buy a rad lock nut for around 60.00

when installing the seals in the carrier...install them flush with the carrier surface do not push them all the way in.

use the best bearings you can get...money = quality with bearings. use american made ones.

never wanna mess with it again...install a tappered bearing carrier.

try hitting it with a hammer...it will help loosen things up by the shock of it being hit.

You won't break a thing, If you do I'll send you another nut. Good luck I feel your pain. that rad lock is a great Idea.

any "clips" needed to be removed?

BLAZERONE22

Yeah you turn both nuts toward the brake rotor and that should expose the clip, pop that baby outta there and amd everything in the perfect world will slide out. Maybe! You might have to make a puller to get the rotor and hub off and maybe tap the axle a little on the end with he hub nut on. to pop the axle out. Good Luck!

yes, we know how. patience. stop and drink a beer after fighting with it for awhile. I go through this at least once a week when building my 200x. U need PB blaster, which is a spray that helps loosen rust, a blow torch to heat the CRAP out of it, and a HUUUUGE breaker bar. Put any adjustable wrench on the nut, which i'm sure your doing and get at least a 4 foot pipe to put over that sucker to get some leverage. Trust me, it sounds like the pipe will need to be at least 4 feet long. The longer the pipe the more leverage. A nice big pipe wrench is better than a regular box wrench because it'll have the teeth to bite into the nut.

PB blaster, heat, and some elbow grease are the best things. PB blaster is the best penetrating lube there is. the ones on my 3 year old 400ex even gave me problems, tru cleaning out the threads as good as you can with the strongest cleaner you can get, any grit and dirt makes it a thousand times harder, i almost ruined my 400ex nuts removing them, and they are only a few years old, they always are hard to take off because of the dirt, and punishment the threads revieve.

what you need is a fire wrench(oxy-aceteline cutting torch)heat that bad boy up cherry red all the way around then put the pipe wrench to it rite away...she'll have no choice but to move.its even better if one person heats and another wrenches.trust me a torch is a mechanics best friend
