A few things i need to know.
1: Where does the groudn wire go? the circular one
2: I need a good way to clean grime off an engine and other parts
3: If i need to repaint my fuel tank, should i scrape off the custom paint job (that's peeling) that's on it off? or just paint over it?
4: Where can i get some cheap plastics?

#1 ) can't remember
#2 ) Car wash / Power Washer use engine degreaser first
#3 ) If you paint over peeling paint it will peel as well. So Strip, prime, repaint.
#4 ) Classifieds, Craigslist, Ebay, ect. If you want cheap ( and good shape ) you need to look hard for a deal. Good Plastic normally brings good money.

I believe that the ground wire attaches to the frame. There should be a threaded hole near the mounting point that the ground wire would attach to. But if worse comes to worse, you could mount the grounding wire for the coil to one of the attaching bolts.

with painting, prep is king.sand or strip all the bad paint off and clean with a prep solution sold at auto stores.prime, wet sand with 1500 grit, clean and paint.since its the gas tank dont use cheap paint.spilled gas will eat it off even a year from now.

If it is welded on, then you could have a problem. That means unless you carefully grind the welded part away, that you will have to cut and replace the shifter shaft which goes into the other side of the engine. But you may find out that you may have to cut it in 2 and replace it anyway depending on how bad the splines are stripped. To replace the shifter shaft, you will have to remove the right side clutch cover and the clutch pack assembly.

how do you get the chain off when swapping engines

find the masterlink on the chain, take it apart and the chain will come off of the bike. you can take it apart with needle nose pliers. it will be the only link on the chain that looks different from the other links.

Here is the engine in VERY good condition for thirty bucks. Runs and all.
78294
The old engine. A 90CC from the seventies. Anyone wanna buy it? Lol JK
78295
The front fender with the custom paint job someone put on it. It looks awsome but needs to be removed due to major peeling. And i'd rather have it stock red.
78296
The gas tank. It has the same design as the front fender and it's the same deal. Peeling paint. And i'd still rather have it red.

Well there you have it. My goal right now is to get it running right. Then i'm gonna fully restore it and make sure there is no rust. It's amazing that in total (including the new engine and all) i've only spent $40 on this project. $10 for buying the three wheeler and $30 for the right engine. Amazing eh?

Any tips? Ummm I guess getting it running good first before making it look nice. I have broken that rule myself in the past and I start buying all the look-nice parts only to find out the engine needs serious work lol.
