I have an 84' atc 70 that bogs down or stalls out on acceleration. Most of the time I can get it to idle with a slight pop now and again (timing). I have replaced points, condenser, ignition coil and plug. I have cleaned the carb with a fine tooth comb. The points are set at .15 and open at correct time, valves are correct and carb jets are original size and it has great spark. At a loss on what to do next.

Check timing again. Might look to valve adjustment next, I would say timing is a tick off though if carb is SPOTLESS......:beer

I have looked though the Clymer manual and it looks as if the only way to adjust the timing is the gap between the points, is that correct? I'm thinking because it is a well worn engine the gap may need to be set outside of the given parameters.
