I need a little help here... I have a zinger that i picked up and cant seem to get it running right...
I have pulled the carb and soaked and cleaned EVERYTHING...
The bike starts right up the first few pulls. I hit the switch to run and it runs for about 10seconds... The bike then starts to bog... I hold the throttle wide open and turn the gas off and she bogs until what seems like the fuel level gets to a the right height. Once the fuel runs low enought she takes off... It seems to me that it runs until the bowl is out of gas and then stalls. I can turn the gas on and off real quick to dump a little more fuel in and it will run for a bit.
I have replaced the float, float needle and pin thinking that was the problem but it is still doing it...
Any help... I'm at a loss...

on my old Zinger... the little float needle has a hardened piece of fuel on the little rubber tip... I didn't even realize it until it popped of when I took it apart for the fifth time.. Carb clean didn't get it off. Is your choke still hooked up?

There is no 'tab' on the float... The zinger doesn't have one like a normal carb would... As far as i can tell there is no float adjustment....
Yes the choke is still hooked up...

Are you sure the pilot (slow jet) is clean? Did you take a small wire and stick it through all the jets? Sometimes compressed air and carb cleaner will miss it the first time around, even if you can see through it, you may have missed somthing. Doube check it, because it sounds like it may be a slightly plugged jet if its not the floats. Good luck, and I am sure you will figure it out if you keep tinkering.
Dammit!

Check to make sure the gas cap is venting properly.

Are you aware that the zinger has a 3 position starting switch? Off-statt-run? Once you get the zinger started, you are suppose to switch to run. IF you have a defective switch, it will give you fits trying to get it to run right, and it may not even be the carb. Just a thought.

Yes, the switch appears to be working... It starts right up in 'Start' mode and then i switch to 'Run' and it takes off.... I will check the gas cap...

I don't think the switch is bad because the symtoms are the same EVERYTIME...
I ran it around the driveway with the gas cap OFF and still same thing...
Pulled and cleaned the carb AGAIN and still same thing... I put a little rubber o-ring in between the float and the float needle so the bowl doesn't fill up anywhere near the level its supposed to and the same thing happens...
I'm beginning to think its a different issue... Any other thoughts???

Your exhaust is clogged. The big fat part of the pipe has a vertical screen partition that clogs. Check it by taking complete exaust off and running it. Cheap fix is to drill large hole through the partition through the hole where the silencer plugs in. very common TriZinger problem.

Unfortinatly that is not the problem... I just tried that with no luck...
Any other sugestions???

How is your air filter?
What sized jets are you running?

I have a K/N clamp on filter with NO air box... it's brand new...
I currently have stock jets in it...

ditch that carb and put a BW 200/225 carb on it with a clamp on..and re-jet it
them carbs are the worst.. unless brand new.. even if they sit a season.. A BW 80 has that same crappy carb..

That carb won't bolt right up?
If I find one, where should I start with the jetting?

There is no such thing as "stock" jetting on a 2 stroke.
First part of jetting is float adjustment. Since yours is not adjustable you have to rejet. You pulling way too much fuel. When your turning the fuel off, your basically adjusting the amount of fuel in the bowl, which is the same thing adjusting the float does.
There is no sense in buying another carb if you cannot adjust the one you already have. Especially if yours is already close to being right, imagine trying to jet one that is off a diffrent motor.
