Alright. First off name is Jake. I am obviously new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I have numerous toys- too many to work and keep up on. I got like 5 vintage mopeds, a mini bike, quad, jeep, etc etc. Just one 3 wheeler.
Well I came across thsi trike the other day. Some kid had it and all plastic was missing- I gave him 40 bucks for it. Low and behold its an 1983 ALT50 and is really not that bad other than plastics and tank missing. Carb was froze and gets good spark, in process of cleaning the carb.
Well I am in desperate need of plastics and any parts for this this if anyone can help or point me in the right direction.
I hear they are the same from the handle bars back as a LT50 quad. Is this true? Gas tank and rear fenders are the same- what about the seat?
Also is this the smallest production ATV ever or just smallest trike?
Thanks Guys!

Its definitely the smallest trike. I think it was also called a Trail Buddy. The front fender/numberplate will be near impossible to find. I have seen a few great condition alt50's for sale around me on Craigslist.
Your best bet for parts would be Ebay or craigslist. Use craigshelper to search craigslist within a certain mile radius or the us for alt50 parts.
Here's a seat $25

Definitly for my son, and definitly getting restored to all original. I have read what I think is alot about them but cannot find the plastics. Luckily from what I read, I do have the front fender.
When I got the trike, I had to go back over to the previous owners house and ask if he had found all the plastics. Well, he didnt. And he is a crabby old man that wont look. I tried explaining how rare and expensive these pieces are but he was still stubborn and wouldnt let me and my dad peek around one of his 5 pole barns packed with junk. Sigh.....
So I have been looking pretty dillegently.
Will the rear fenders for an LT fit a ATL?

According to www.bikebandit.com the part number 512372-001 is for the 83 alt50 and the 85 lt 50. They are discontinued, but they are one and the same rear fender.
http://www.maier-mfg.com/shop.cfm?action=list&page=list.cfm&criteria=101&makeid=40&modelid=424&modelyear=1985
Maier sells the rear fender for the 85 lt50. There is a rear fender for your trike. I don't know about the color match of their yellow to the stock color though.
Hope that helps...

Thats awesome. I will probably have it complete within the next few weeks. I am gonna use EBAY and that bike bandit, I surfed around there and yeah they still pretty much have everything.
I will post some pics of it after she is all set.
This wont be a 100% restoration, but everything it needs is going to look new.
Thank god for the LT50......I have spent alot of time searching the net but there really is only so much you find.
In pretty darn clean and running condition what do you think they are worth?
This will probably be around our family a long time, my Dad likes the novelty part of it and my son will be big enough able to ride next year or so. Until then we will probably let my neice enjoy it and keep it super nice.:beer
**I forgot to ask- what is the name of the yellow color Suzuki made these bikes with?**
