Great stuff once again mjquadracer! So sad the heated Honda/Kawasaki battles lasted only a few short years. The sound of all those machines is pure bliss.....From what i gather, 85 was the high water mark for 3wheeler racing of all forms. Seems Honda began pulling back big time in the early part of 86, which led to a quick decline of support. And the soon to follow death of 3wheeler racing completely.

mendenhaul pretty much dominated that class and honda didnt have an answer for him no matter how much money they spent. That guy was awsome on anything he rode. I have the 200 for stroke class also with curtis sparks if people are intrested.

Thank you so much for posting these videos. I was actually at that race and it was really cool to get to see my idols at the time going wheel to wheel. I dont know if you have any more but I would love to see them.

Honda got 2nd. Mendenhall on a Tecate got 1st place. he was way ahead of 2nd place.

I got them from a company called rs videos out of bakersfield in the 80's. They had more available but I cant get a hold of them. The phone #'s arent the same any more. I think dunlaps motor seized at the end.

I WAS SUPRISED TO SEE THE responses on here. I didnt think anybody cared about this stuff anymore. I posted a link on ex riders and didnt get much feedback . Most quad guys are all about quads and nothing else. They dont appreciate where the sport originated from. Any body can go fast on a quad. Three wheelers take way more skill. Thats why I think these guys need exposure and props than they get. All the 3 wheeler footage I see on you tube is so lame. I thought id give it a kick in the pants! One thing you wont get from me is holding out on this stuff like alot of people are. I dont know why cause this stuff is classic and takes me back to my younger days. One guy in particular I tried to make a trade with didnt hold up to their part of the bargain. Thats why I'm leery of making trades with people! Thanks for the input and hope to have more up soon cause i got alot of footage.
