so i posted a while ago about a restore project that i got. its a 86 350x that was beat to death and then sold to me... i spent some money on the motor to get it running and then started work on the other stuff.... now that i have rode it i know i need to do something with the suspention... the shocks need to be rebuilt on front and back.. also the swinger didnt look right.. so i didnt some searching on service honda at the pics and noticed that the swinger dont look any thing like it. so i seached around diffrent years and bikes and i found it... its a swinger off of a 87 200x. the bike rides so low in the back that i had to shim the head lights so they didnt point into the sky. now i dont really care much about that but what do you guys know about the geometry on this... there is no linkage or any thing in there.. its just bolted strait to the swinger braket. would i do better if i get a 250r or 350x swinger? if so is there any one out there that needs a 87 200x swinger that has what i need for trade?

Post up in classifieds, you'll find an 86 350X swinger from 25-60$. \

Are you sure it's an 87 200X? There red in color but paint can change....

New seals in thew front and fresh oil and your good.

Contact SBLT on the board for a rebuild shock, roughly 200$. Or gamble with a better used one on EBAY. Search "shock rebuilding or rebuilt shocks etc etc"

Neither the 200X or 350X have linkage, that swinger could probably be made to work, but something got rigged on it so it's probably 2"s lower or so.

The 250R swinger needs uses a linkage suspension and ears would need to be welded to the 350X frame to work. It would be great, but quite a bit of work unless you do that sort of stuff.

well the swinger doesnt have any holes in it ware the 2 bolts go through... it has a center braket just like in the pic on service honda of the 87 200x witch is diffrent than the 86 or 85
