Yeah they are basically the same but the 83 has front suspension. Did you look around on eBay?

yea i looked, dont start my new job till friday so was hopeing for free till then think i found what i need though. if any one has any ideas on what else to check if carb adjustments dont work it would be greatly appreciated. sounds like it wants to fire has great spark is gettin gas and so on it just seems like it is gettin to much gas so i hope carb adjust works. also is it supposed to have a key?? didnt have the set up for one when I got it. it ran fine was thinking when i rewired it might not have known about someones bypass just a thought

I have the Honda Condensed Service Data - ATC 185 (s), 200 (e, es, m, s) in PDF format, if you're interested.

Has it been sitting for a while? Take the carb apart and remove the jets and make sure you can see daylight through them. It could be that you have a plugged pilot jet from sitting. 185s never had a keyed ignition as far as I know.

thank you very much for the advice. i will take apart the carb i think its a float problem not a jet but i will look. if I pull the cord a few times and take out the spark plug its wet so i know its getting probably too much gas. also the 200s manual is for 84 on up i need 83 is there much of a difference?? also found owners manual which dont have as much detail as a shop manual but has the specs i wanted plug gap, timing, carb settings, valve settings etc....

The carb specs are different on your 185s, than ones shown in that 200s manual you have.
