my 250sx runs extremely rich i know it burns oil so leaning it out should help quite a bit with throttle response(right now it sluggish). i was thinking about rejetting it. anybody know what size jet is stock, a part number for new jet would be great.

Welcome to 3WW!
It burns oil so you want to rejet?? Jetting is done to work with engine and carburetor modifications you make but not to patch other problems.
If it's sluggish because you changed the exhaust, took off the airbox lid or other mods, then there is something to work with. But leaning out or richening the fuel circuit to compensate for oil in the combustion chamber isn't gonna do much for you. That may not be the problem......
Not to mention that jetting can be one hell of a task and a part number isn't gonna cut it. Which jet? Pilot? main? needle? slide cut away? I wish it were that easy, we ALL wish it were that easy but unfortunately it isn't :D
Is it sluggish because the carbs jets are dirty? Do you have rust inside your gas tank? Are you running an inline fuel line filter? You may just have a carb related issue and the burning of oil is throwing off your thinking a bit??
Why is it burning oil and how is it getting in there? Do you need rings? or valve seals?
It's not a 2 stroke, leaning out the fuel because there is oil getting in there isn't going to fix it.........

this trike is pretty much a beater i took the engine apart over the winter and saw that the cylinder was grooved horizontaly. probably because the motor was locked up when i got it for free. the piston is also worn pretty bad. it will take more to rebuild the engine than this thing is going to be worth. i'm just hoping to prolong its death. and make it run a little better but the plug is a dark black without even a hint of brown so do you think rejetting will help?

Rejetting for oil consumption and a worn out motor, no.
