I'm finally getting my 350x back together and the decompressor is giving me fits. The location is right at the kickstart shaft. The manual says rotate the lever clockwise the install the clutch cover. All I can get it to do is slip the kickstarter lever now. With the arm up, there is no decompreesion what so ever. I have a factory manual, and the verbage sucks the drippings off a monkeys balls. Can anyone help me out?

Sure!!
Make sure the dots on that kickstart cam and shaft are inline - Thats the crap under the clutch cover.
Then place on your clutch cover BUT you have to just lift the ARM that rides on that cam just a hair for it to allow the clutch cover to go on smooth. Thats the crap IN the clutch cover.
That arm obviously has to be installed into the cover correctly also. But, if you can look at it, push it against that spring etc etc, and it makes sense, then it should be good too.
Then, you have to go to TDC on the compression stroke. Just take off the left side covers cap and make SURE you are at "T". Refer to manual as to right timing!!
Now, install the cable on both ends and as long as the lever crap in your head is good, adjust it until there is about 1/4" or 6mm play in the arm on the head and your done!
If thrust washers are missing, your at the wrong time, the cam and or lever are worn etc etc - it won't work.
Hopefully between my rambling and the manual, you'll get it.....
