I have an 86 yamaha 200E that will intermittently just die. It will run fine for several days, then while under a load it will just die, I can restart it but it will only idle, if I try to throttle any WOT or slow throttle it will die.

I figured I would take the float bowl off and see what its condition is, are there any other thoughts?

Thanks for the help,

Sounds like the carburetor needs cleaned. Take it apart, use carb cleaner, then use a single strand of wire to poke through the orifices and jets in the carb. Then use compressed air through the jets and ports in the carb. In some extreme cases actually boiling the carb seems to loosen up the nasty stuff. Remember to wear safety glasses.

i dont know if you still can, you used to be able to get carb cleaner in a large can. You can hang the carb in the bucket of cleaner on a wire and let it soak. Another very good way to get a very clean carb.

mopar penetrating fluid and let it sit for a few hours will clean it right up. then blow it out
