I got a reply!
it just not my sprockets, my whole tranny has been regeard as well. the front has a 14 and the back is 40. its bore 75 over and rejeted. u have the standerd model. this 1 is the special editon and just from factory it is tuned alot better. this is the fastest 1 they ever made. its worth more then any of the rest. if i can find my gearing specs i can send them 2 u. there is so many things u can do 2 these motors. i can also run alco. with my set up. i have a guy coming from chicago right now 2 buy this 1 for 950. it would have sold it 4 alot more if i would have put rings on my self. i dont have a dime 2 spare right now and need another car really bad. thats life. just do some reserch on the tri z and u will see how bad ass these bike are. yours is really nice. my brother has the same model as u. check out u tube and type in built banshee vs built tri z the tri z smokes the banshee in a drag race.

It may be possible that that Z runs 110. You'd be surprised how many utility/4x4 quads around here can run 85-90mph....lol.
I know a guy that swears his TRX250X will run 90+ and smoke a 250R........of course it's(he's) running on crystal meth:). When(if) he gets out of jail I'll race him and let ya'll know.
Guess if I do beat him, mine must run 120:).

to get a gear setup to make a tri z go 110mph. it would take 15 mins to get that speed. you would need to give up all your torque for top speed. if its a 110mph trike, its for flat smooth road only, and will have eff all for acceleration.. i dont believe it for a second.. maybe 110kph lol

I couldn't resist, I had to reply again.
You said that in your emails that the special edition tri-z's had a different transmission. I looked it up the the yamaha parts microfishe..... you are full of shat. The part number for every gear and spacer is the same. I understand you want to sell the machine, but to make comments like that is crazy. The trike community is laughing at your add and doing it online. Check it out, you are our laughing stock. http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=99557 Why can't you just be real and say that the thing rips? Good luck with your sale.

man i wouldn't dare drive it at 110 unless i was wearing some kinda special suit! If you biff at the speed you'll be roadkill. I've done that on our snowmobile, but i don't think i would do it on wheels.

06-30-2009, 02:05 PM
you just gota find an appropriate strech of flat track to do it. i find most of my friends only whipe out when they dont pick there paths right. id go 200mph if it was possible on a trike, theres a warhouse near my house has to be nearly a 1/2 mile long yard in the back, on weekends its wide open and empty. fenced off, private property so cops cant come on the property unless the owner or an employee calls, and during the weekend its empty i havent found a problem yet. when my trike is back from the shop thats where im headed right away to test the top speed.

Cool. I just thought of somewhere. It's called Monte Cristo. It has a 1 mile long flat stretch of dirt that leadds to some huge hills. That's also where i was snowmobiling at high speeds. Once i get my 110 running ( even at just 30-40 MPH that place can be dang fun!) i'm gonna go up there and do some jumping. We normally go there in winter just cause it's funner then.

i dont know if anyone remembers but there was a guy that claimed his tri-z he was trying to sell did 124mph....but hes here in wichita and his name is chad. so ive been watching cragslist for trikes and i found this guy who has trikes and 4 wheelers. funny thing is he has the same number as chad.....hummm.....so heres the thing he has pissed so many people off on cragslist that he is now claiming his name is John instead of Chad......hahaha what a character......

90 mph on a dirt bike or trike, or atv.. gets pretty scary, when i was younger my dads friend took me out on a 1100cc gsxr, was going 260kph, street lights looked like lasers flying by, kind of like a drunken blur unless your looking at flat colors lol.

Dude, did you mean a 6-speed Yamaha TTR 125 doing 80?
My boys have recently converted to the religion of 3-wheelerism, but still have dirt bikes.
My 12-year old's 2005 TTR125 is a 5-speed, and get's waxed by my 14-year old's 6-speed '89 CR125 which won't do 80mph under any circumstances.
My guess is the TTR125 MIGHT run 50mph at most.

granted it does take enough time to get going that fast, once u pop it into 6th getting the rpms up is hard.
man... you guys are worried about 110 mph? ive been up to 180 mph for several hundred miles... you heard right SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES! never letting the needle drop below 160! granted I was completly insane and love the thrill it brings but dang.... scared of 110? come on..... I cant wait till my 500R is done! im going to post a few high speed drive buys! WOOT!

Not outright knocking you, but you're mistaken. I can't find any reference to a 6-speed 2003 TTR125.......nor any part number for a 6th gear cog. According to Yamaha, all were 5-speeds.

Naw, dude. I'll just take your word for it......you're too far on the other side of Egypt to drop by and count your gears for you. Even if they offered it in 6 or 7 speeds, my boy's TTR125 motor wouldn't pull the tall gears it would require to run 70.
Your's is a "special edition, one of a kind, fastest one made of it's model" and we'll leave it at that.
Kinda sux(for us), though, that your TTR125(running 80mph like you said) will outrun my Tecate, my boys' 250R and Tri-Z, my buddy's KX250 and about every wheeler or bike I've ever own other than a GSXR750, a CR480(maybe it too) and my '92 WR500 bike.

i see several posts on google saying yamaha 125 DT 4 stroke 6 speed tranny, like i said i bought the bike used, he could have swaped engines or used the bottom end of a DT engine. the bike the video i posted has 6 speed + neutral, if i ever get another memory card ill make another video showing u that it shifts into a 6th gear.
just saying homie you need to have proof to back up any claims especialy when you get called out! I could care less about 80mph on a yam 125... thats piddle shizz in my book.. thats why both of my machines have 500's in them. carry on young man.;)

I have no idea whatsoever if another transmission or bottom end could be or has been put in your bike. With(!) a clear vid/audio of it shifting into 6th gear, I will say it's a 6speed and you were right about that, but it didn't come that way from the factory and it won't run 65mph, much less 80.
I like the TTR, don't get me wrong.....and I have nothing against you personally(though i know it sounded like it and for that I apologize), but the older I get, the less patience I have with BS-ers, people that swear to half-truths, and outright liars(not lumping you into ANY category).
On top speed, I simply think you are mistaken.

ill make a video before friday i need to get a SD memory card for my video camera, my dog chewed the one that came with the camera. i can honestly say that the bike should not have 6 gears, im 200lbs and when u hit 6th it just doesent have the balls to get the rpms up. it takes longer to get to mid rev in 6th then it does to get from 1 through 5, im not saying they came with a 6 speed. but that one in the video in particular has 6 speed tranny. i normally dont use the 6th gear due to that fact,
Lukeatc185
06-30-2009, 06:09 PM
i was going 130kph, i got to about mid rev, thats what 60mph?, i figured if i was 40 lbs less it would be able to push another grand and with the ratio of the 6th gear, i was estimating around 80 mph, i ran out of room at 130kph,

BLAHHHHH
Syko, a buddy of mine was making the run between the woods on I10 between grosse tete and Baton Rouge, it's a 12 mile stretch of nothingness.
Cruising at about 150-160 on an R1...an old guy in an elcamino or caprice (I can't remember which) started riding his ass. Lol...said it never scared him more.
He tapped that sucker out and exited ASAP.
Every now and then when coming over the mississippi bridge in BR I used to get a wild hair up my ass and chase the crotch rockets in my xb. Coming down off the top bridge is the only way to make it effectively break into it's peak tq rpms. Nothing wierds em out more than a box turning 6 grand blowing by at 120 screaming toward it's 129 limit.
I did get hit with a faux hawk off some fags helmet one night...
