I have the chance to buy this exhaust for my 81 r but have never heard anything about it. Whats the power range for it, low/mid/top? Whats the reputation and would this be a good buy for my stock r? What silencer would be best to use? thank you

This one has poppep up on ebay multiple times. I thought about jumping on it but never bothered. I wouldn't have any idea what kinda silencer you could use with it? Might have to fab something up to fit.

btw - if you read the 'pipe dreams' article here - http://airfoolers.com/magazine/magazine.html You'll notice it looks more like the 'Aircone' setup rather then the pro circuit ... it may be designed to run 'as is' without a silencer to be honest.

By the size of the pipe and the tip of the exit, it looks to have a silencer on it.

saul- i read the article and your right it looks like the pipe you said but it also looks like the older DG, it has the same type of build. i think i might pass on this. what kinda pipe do you personally recommend, that i might actually be able to get my hands on? im looking to not lose any low end, but would like to increase the top a little. how are the new DG's?

I have little 'real world' experience to share with you I'm afraid to say ... I wen't from the stocker oem pipe to my full Bassani setup (which is sick btw) - but - the new DG pipes get ragged on by some people, however, a few of the guys at the fooler forum run them and found good gains from them. 300RinNY, Forever Three Wheels, Jared and more ... check with one of those guys.

Other then that ... you could hunt around and see what you can find used - just try not to buy 'too much' pipe for your engine. I don't know how modified you are?

Good luck - happy hunting.

thanks saul, i will be doing some hunting. im not modified at all, i just put close to $1000 re-sleeving and new bearings, piston, ect... so the engine is basically back to new stock. i just wanted to get a little more out of it with a pipe and jetting... even tho i dont even know how much it currently has cause its not together yet lol, but thanks and i'll ask a couple of those guys you mentioned
