Will a kx 250 pv motor fit in a Tecate frame?

I am curious as to if my 89 kx250 motor will fit in a Tecate frame.
Does anyone know? The kx motor is left side drive.

look into the 88-97kx500 motor i know they bolt in. and if you ahve the bike just check and see yank motors if you already own thebikes.

no i've got 88/89 kx250 and im picking up a 85/86 tecate with a bad motor, and i want to know if the motor transplant will be easy or if there will be massive modifications needed.

Hi Magic ,I had instaled in my 86 tecate a 89 kx motor minor modifications you will need ,like new hole in support where head cilinder is screwed .I only had problems with pipe because i had not a original pipe of kxt or kx and I had to install a 1993 pipe and was dificult but you have not this problem because you can to buy or find pipe for it in usa, well if you need any only tell me

well wait a minute wait a minute.... you said 85/86 tecate. is it an 85 or 86 model. they are two totally different machines. if it is an 86, yes it will work, if it is an 85 it wont. the single centered downtube of the 85 model will block the headpipe from lining up to the exhaust port on the 86 motor. the 85 model exhaust port exits at an angle. if it is an 86 with split down tube, then you should be fine.
