I have a 84 Tri Moto 225 that is draining the battery when everything is shut off. When I removed the positive cable earlier it sparked when my wrench touched the frame. What could be causing this?

Did your positive cable touch your wrench and the frame at the same time. If so that is just you grounding out the power. I am having the same problem with my battery on my 200 but am still searching for a problem. It just started a couple of days ago.

The wrench connected the current to the frame. Ive got a new battery that holds a charge when its not connected to the machine. My neighbor put a meter on the system and according to it there is no drain. It obviously wrong though.

It was wrong. We put another meter on it and something was drawing power. I started unplugging harnesses, and it turns out it was the voltage regulator. Found one on e bay for $30 and its fixed.
