Since building my fresh motor for my new Tecate-I always personally like to have a spare motor, these days with parts become more and more discontinued, I like to have options.I picked up a spare motor off Ebay, the price was so dam cheap I could not pass it up, I figured if anything the cases alone would be worth the 23 bucks I paid for it.All the internals as far as the trans are there, it was missing the water pump gear,stator,impellar shaft,and all the case bolts themsleves,but as I said for the money I thought I might be able to get something out of it.More below;
I cleaned the cases, trans gears, and took pictures.The right side case has some damage where the crank seal rides-I think after a light file to smooth out any rough edges still can use it,I also noticed some wear on the gears themselves-the pictures are after a good cleaning in the parts washer and dryed with air line.Also, the crank end where the water pump gear rides, it has some damage and appears like there is not enough metal to install the snap-ring to hold it on, what's your guys thought please? http://s733.photobucket.com/albums/w...ecate%20motor/
Sent the crank out to be rebuilt today, have a great guy in MI that is a machinist, will post the documents on it when it is completed.
Looking for some parts, need the water pump gear for the crank,c-clip for it as well, water pump impellar shaft,all the bolts to hold the cases together,both side cases for the bottom end,gear shift, kicker,just to list a few.If you have any please feel free to PM me or post here thanks.
Lapped the cases today, cleaned and checked the kicker gear assembly to make sure it was lined up properly, I have a complete new top end for the motor so thats a non-issue.I also degreased the gears and shaft and mic'd them all, there is some wear but nothing bad.Also degreased and cleaned the spare rear shock as well, will do a oil channge on it and recharge.

Have been collecting motor parts from various sources the past couple weeks, also bought another used motor as well complete-good to have parts these things are getting harder and harder to find. I still need the water pump impellar,shaft,main gear off the crank for the motor.
ok, got the gears and such from member.I also got off ebay a complete roller,minus the front rim and tire.Think I am going to build another tecate fellas-I have everything except wire harness,handlebars.thas it!! I got tank,motor, swinger,rear rims and tires, etc etc so I think I will build one more!!!what you guys think?

Sending the jug out to US CHROME for a rebuild/piston kit.I have the crank already out for a rebuild,and I got another motor off Ebay that came with ever dam seal, bearing,dowel,everything with it for a complete rebuild,so here we go again fellas!!
