and I can’t start it because I can’t get it into neutral. I cannot push it forward but I can pull it backwards. The gearshift lever can be pushed down and then the whole thing will roll freely. When the gearshift lever is pushed down it does not spring back up either. This machine was sitting out side for 20+ years. Trying to get it running. Don’t have a lot of background about these things and I am somewhat mechanically inclined.
Hello, First I would download a shop manual to print out, these are extremely handy. (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/67...r-Red-250.html) I've had to take apart my high and low range gears on my '83 before to replace chain and such. I believe you are going to have to pull your transmission covers off and see what's going on in there that needs fixed or replaced. Good luck!
