Ok so I am ready to start a build and I have found and gathered almost everything I need for a good bike. Only thing I am having trouble finding is a bearing set for the internals of the motor. The transmission bearings, the water pump bearing, the kick start bearing, and the clutch bearing. I can find the crank shaft bearing and seal set. I was just wondering if the other bearings were sold in a set or something. I know I can get them from the local bearing shop but it will cost me over $10 a piece. (On top of bore, nikasil, piston, fresh crank, machine work etc). I want this build to be a machine I know will last 5-10 years with minimal issues. I am so tired of putting band aids on 25 year old bleeding machines so to speak. Any ideas?
I'm really not sure, have you checked to see if the oem bearings are still available?
just had my motor built at kawi dealer and i belive they went through parts unlimited to get all the bearings for it.
Haven't checked OEM. OEM is usually expensive. I have friends that have access to parts unlimited I'll ask them about it. Thanks
I know OEM transmission bearings are discontinued!
I don't know who is an all balls distributor, but I wouldn't hesitate using those for all the motor bearings other than the crank. I always use oem for crank bearings.
