Ordered a top end gasket kit for my 85' Tecate and got a vintage kit. It's Vesrah, but is 25 or so years old in the package. Can gaskets go bad? I was just wonderin' as helmet foam is suppose to deteriorate and the paper gaskets can get moisture and rot. Also, they sent me a gasket kit for an 86-87, will this work on my 85'. The add said 85-86 kx and I got the kit for 86-87 Tecate. Thanks guys.
No, the 86-87 top end kit won't work on a 84-85. The cylinders are more rectangular on a 86-87. As far as cylinder gaskets go, I wouldn't trust anything over oem gaskets.
