Got a dog bone and linkage off e-bay a couple of months ago for $12. I got it to shorten an inch or so to lower the 85'. The 85' has grease zerks. This one I suspect must be an 84'. No zerks. So are the internals of the end of the dog bone the same? So when I shorten it will the zerked guts of the 85' go into the 84'? And I asked this before, but mabee someone has done it since, or knows from the adjustable linkage, how much will and inch out of dogbone lower it do ya suspect? Thanks gentlemen ( and no offense to those of us who aren't)
the bolts will fit so will the hime joints. the 84 is already shorter then the 85.
The guts, T3 LOPES, in the gold 84' are really sloppy, jus' plain wore out, Is that the 'hime' joint? So the ones I have in the 85' will work slipped into the 84' dogbone? Thanks, just trying to make sure before I fab everything, so I don't ruin anything, it looked a little different to me, but I tend to overthink things.
as far as i remember they should be the same.
Thanks. Having my motor rebuilt, so while it's down I have time for little expensive things, but only what I can handle. The motor is getting done at an old school shop that has a motorcycle bone yard. They rebuild lots of old bikes and was in the basement in the shop and seen the owners yt 175, so I got a little favor to get my trike repaired.
is there adjustable dog bones. if so how do i find one? and can i see some pic?
You can use the KX dirtbike, or the 86-87 Tecate adjustable dogbone. Or you can search for an aftermarket adjustable one like this.
