Need help on the fuel petcock. I know that the yamaha big bear 400 # 2HR-24500-02-00. Called the local dealer and wanted $36. Ya right, kiss both sides of my arse, oh, and a week and a half out at the soonest. So I checked e-bay. The 250 big bear is 3JN-24500-02-00. The fuel outlet out the side not bottem. The banshee, which must be gold-plated, is 2GU-24500-02-00, also on the side. Is the size of the tubing different sizes? The gas flow? The bigbear 250 is the most inexpensive and would be the quickest to get, and it's new. The banshee and the 250 bigbear look identical, what do the 1st 3 numbers mean? The dealerships here are not good, don't even carry gas line, so they are not much help. My motor is rebuilt and I'll put it in on Friday or sat., and can use the temporary Motion pro inline filter for now, but need the petcock by next week. Thank you all for you're future knowledge.-Robby.
Nevermind, thanks, I'll just order it and experiment, should work.
Let us know what you find out!
I'm curious as to what you find out too. I bought a used banshee one for mine and it leaks just as bad as my original one did. Guess that makes me in the market too.
I have used this style several times with very good results. You will loose your reserve and will need to make a adapter plate. I got this shut off from my local guy uptown for under 20 dollars. I believe they are Motion Pro, for 300cc or larger engines. lever back for off, lever down for on. http://img89.imageshack.us/i/shutoff2.jpg/
Yup. It's pretty slick, but the one I used was an inline. I sealed the leaky stock with metal epoxy. I see your Tecate has it's nightie on again and I think I seen a green leather bra there too John, is there something funky goin' on your not tellin' us?
yeah, she be a modest type. Won't be to much longer before I rip the sheet off of her and fully expose her.
^ O.k., that was really funny.
Found out the 250 bigbear fuel petcock works excellent, and for 1/2 the price almost.http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...743#post927743
