I sent this to Coolpool already. Found these on craigslist. Supposedly they are mine for the price of $240 shipped... They guy is on vacation though until the 3rd of Jan. A couple have been repaired and all hold air. One of the rears is supposed to be really decent. I couldn't pass it up.
Mail came today =] This one has a cut that someone has attempted to repair. Unfortunately this one has the most tread. Norton isn't as excited as I am.
I still think you got a hell of a deal. Got another US90 hiding somewhere that needs some boots?
I am looking for a clean us-90 missing its tires. I also got a pm about someone looking at repairing these tires. Might use the one with the big cut to do some experimenting.
It can take years, and many tires to get it right. It helps if you have an uncle that's a chemist. He got it right.
Did you look into the company that inserts small foam balls into tires to make them airless? There was a link on one of the forums somewhere. We've got to find an off shore company that will re-produce these things. Even different tread patterns would be cool. I guess I'm dreaming. Anyone speak Korean or Chinese?
I have thought about that pool. Since there is a sizable hole I was thinking about stuffing it with those balls. That could be spendy though. I have been considering taking the bubble tires off the bike and throwing on some retro nobbies while i do a resto on it. My father dug up some old 2 piece 3 bolt 110 rims. He also found 2 adapters to convert the old hubs to the 3 bolt, 2 piece rims. Oh yeah, he found lots of old 3 wheeler catalogs from several companies ie Honda 90,110, 185s Brochures, Helm and Sons catalog, an old RD350 conversion catalog (forgot the companies name), And the small flyer from a company here in Medford that used to make full suspension 90-110 frames as well as a killer monoshock 185 frame (in 83'). My father had this 185 frame on an 81 185s with cr125 forks and custom triples made by the same comapany. The 185s
Ha ha those pics are retro! Probably a good idea switching out the boots if you are going to ride a lot. You're probably right about the "spendy" part of the foam ball deal. I guess it's a matter of wether you need them right away or not. Just dropped off my old US90 magazine ads to be dry mounted for display. They should look nice I hope. Do you happen to have an extra front fender kicking around?
I wish. Easymoney and I both need one. Ours are pretty bashed up. Crappy thing is, my father sold a red metel front fender off a us-90 at a swap a year ago for 15$. It was in great condition, and had been sitting in the barn forever.
Oh man bummer! If you only knew. I'm not against getting a fibreglass one from Vintagemotorsports. Pricey though, $150.00
