We were taking apart Kendra's Tecate down to the bits and I started looking at my 84 so I decided to do a little work on it. I had a bent 84 foot peg so I put a set of 85 pegs on it. Last year at Waynoka the weld that holds the footpeg mount broke and the foot peg mount bent down. Got it welded. Anyways the other sides welds are gone except just at the top. Need to get that welded.
Here is the side that was welded

Here is the side that the weld is broken in the same spot

    Here is my bent peg

My shifter was a little loose. Its a given since it has been on the bike since new. When it gets loose I just shave some material from the clamping surface and put it back on. Now the threads are trashed. I found a new 85 shifter with the folding tip. But I also found this:

He says it is off an 84 Tecate. We know it isn't. Looks like a KX shifter. Does anyone think it might work? It looks to be to short.
Here is a pic of Kendra's parts waiting sandblasting and pink & white powdercoat. Looks like we may be painting some plastics. :-(

Yeah, the rear carrier is trashed. Either the chain came off and rubbed on it or more likely the bearings went bad and it got real hot from the inside. Eyecekold1, would you happen to have a decent condition rear carrier? It's going to be powdercoated pink so the outside doesn't have to look like much.

Does anybody have a line on new oem or aftermarket shifters for less than $50? Can you still get the 86-87 shifters from Kawasaki? Do they still sell the parts to rebuild a rear caliper, and are the parts inside the rear caliper the same between the 84-85?

Anybody got any good ideas on how to get the seal out now? I've already broke 1 screwdriver in half. I'm about to throw the whole damn thing in the trash. 8mm allen socket on the impact took the bolt out no worries. The seal is in tatters and hasn't budged. Apparently this is the reason nobody changes their fork seals.
