I just called Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to have my 85 tecate titled and I asked what was the first year a trike was titled in pa it was 1987 but there was no trikes in 87 so it most likely quads where the first titled in pa. but you had the option to have it done through the dmv back then if was not then you have a clear bike they have no info on it. I need to get my trike titled a bunch of bikes were stolen around here lately if you have no title the cops wont do anything.
question, what if you do not live in PA but ride there, can you register a trike with them to do that? Not title it, just ride it.

I want to post a here. It pisses me off it takes an act of god to be able to legally ride a trike (atv, atc, or mc). Depending on you're state, county, or town, It shouldn't be so rediculous. I persued the legal means in my county and no one had the answers, nobody knew how to really register or street legalize a 3-wheeler. And, when chasing windmills for a few days, the cost became astronomical. I think around $200 per 3-wheeler and if I remeber right, closer to $400 to street legalize one. When confronted by a sherriff or park ranger, I jus' tell em' to write me a ticket if they want (It's cheaper to pay several fines), & explain to me what I need to do to legalize my ride. It's worked. They don't know the legal way to register a trike. They don't even know the laws to enforce them!
