O.k., did as I was told as I always do. I'm runnin' BelRay HR1 at 32:1. And it's thick. Tail pipe is oily, not powdery or tar-like. Way rich, but good for the break in. Jetting is very, very close. Clip is one notch up from stock for 4700ft. But the temperature has dropped conciderably. Have a bog until I snap the throttle hard a couple of time (cleans it out). Then I can open it up without bogging. Clean in WOT in any gear after that (until I putt around for to long again). My question, remember I am inexperienced, should I swiitch to 40:1 mixture? Or move my clip up one more notch (to lean it more?) Shop said to switch to the other BelRay mix or go 40:1 with the HR1. The racers go 20:1-32:1 with there rigs at WOT 7-9,000 rpm. I opened it up through 5 gears 4-5 times on sat., but trail ride in 1st & 2nd gear alot too. Tried to give alot of info, sorry so long. -Robby.
Oh, should have mentioned this. Am running an open uni air filter. Haven't even put on the air box yet, will have to for winter (snow).
I run 32:1 with Maxima Super M, and have ran that for the last 23 years. Still on the same bore. What does your spark plug look like? Don't forget you will have to rejet with the airbox on.
I had nearly identical stats on my T-3 and moved the clip and it made all the difference in the world. No more fouled plugs and no having to "clean it out" for it to perform at a moments notice. john
