Hopefully it is o.k. with Corey to relay this information which I inquired about and Corey PM'd me back with. If I am stepping on your toes Corey, I am sorry, but I am excited and would like to relay the information you have given me. Here is what Corey relayed to me when I asked about a big bore kit. A 300cc bigbore kit with the KX cylinder is $600. The KXT cylinder is $500. The 330cc kit is $200 more for either cylinder. If Sprock racing is rebuilding the motor and installing the bigbore kit, it's $200 more. Corey can build a even bigger, 370cc-400cc for around $2000. Corey also has +5.1 stroker cranks in stock. That's all I was told, so we have an idea of round about cost.
What is all included in the big bore kit? Is it just a big bore cylinder? Is the head modified? Does that include porting? Just asking. I thought the biggest you could go on these things was a 330. 370 that is huge!
I will stick with the little "buzz saw" 250 motor.....beat those big bores 95% of time anyway!
^Ya, but your a hand behind those bars, lol, and a sharp technician tuning and building. I'm a derelict, with no common since, need all the help I can get, lol!
Thanks.....but by no means am I the technician, Im learning as I go! Trust me I have a big big bore, the little well ported Nicom plated cylinder with a good combination will out run the big bore sleeved cylinder all day long. And both are KX Cylinders. My big bore might be up for sale soon....at a much cheaper price if you wanna go that route. I will tell you this, if you happen to smoke a piston, replacing it will be much more difficult and timely due to the machine work needed on the piston.....its simply not a direct bolt in, dont let anyone tell you different. Just some words of advice.
