I'm looking to get one for one of my 86s. I'm wondering how the quality is and if you got all the bolts for the engine and frame. I know it won't come with the large bolts like the pegs, but what about the motor mounts? And which kit did you get? there are a bunch of different price ones that say they're for tecates. Any help or input is appreciated, thanks in advance.
all I have seen are just universal "oem type" bolts and is just an assortment of commenly used nuts and bolts. they put tecate or other machine in the title to draw you in
I like the looks of these kits as opposed to the stainless kit because the bolt heads on the stainless kits are allen style. But i like the stainless kits because it seems a lot more complete. I definitely think you're right about the titles.
yea i bought one of the bolt kits when i restored my 84 and could only use about half of the fasteners. in my opinion not worh the money, my 2nd resto i will just measure all the fasteners and buy just what i need seems like it would be cheaper.
I have seen 220 pc kits for like 50 bucks not bad considering what each fastener costs from the dealer and who knows when you will need one that you didnt use. a dealer by me sells a "track pack" for 15.00 great for a mid ride fix
thanks for the input. I took a quick inventory of what i needed and called the guy and ended up buying a 250 piece kit. He added some extra larger bolts for my tripples to the 220 kit and some other stuff for the motor. Hes a real nice guy, i'll give an update after it arrives.

I bought the same kit as yooperman above. It looks good, the price you pay is good vs what you get. I haven't used the kit yet though..
Just do not use the shock bolts. They bend if you jump the trike. Also use a dap of silicone grease on the threads so they do not sieze in the bike after a long time.
I bought the specbolt kit as well. I ordered it on a friday afternoon and it arrived monday afternoon, really surprised me. I like it so far, it certainly cheaper than replating the old bolts. Mosh, this kit doesn't come with any large bolts like the shock bolts, maybe thats a different kit?
